Cheers Flo, I have been lurking thru your thread and that chem dog is lookin the NUTS!!

Dont suppose you could shed some light on the browning/yellowing issue could you? I suspect a deficiency, maybe Cal/Mg?

Nice looking NL's. The leaves look fatter than mine. I have one Nirvana NL lady out of 5 seeds. There were 3 males and a hermie (from regular seeds).
I have 5 Nirvana NL fems seeds in vermiculite for 5 days now and nothing. I sure hope these Nirvana beans are good. Wasting a lot of time here.

Cheers mate, I've had a bit of a disaster but I'm coming out the other end of it now.....hopefully

This is the first time i've used nirvana and i have to say i'm impressed. I've had 5 out 5 so far and all are doin well considering. There are problems with the genetics with the nirvana autoflower NL strain but they acted swiftly to rectify the situation and i'm happy so far.

Could be Cal/Mag def.
I automatically put PBP Cal/Mag in my rez's in the beginning because I noticed some slight yellowing.
Been fine ever since.
IMO, they may need it in the beginning but usually pan out later if the nutes are in proper ratios.

I'm hoping it is Cal/Mag, i've some in the post, this should sort it out.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions, sometimes you can think too hard about a problem and come up with all different solutions and not sure of the correct one.

Are you using r/o water ?
If so, it's highly recomm to add cal/mag to the water because the r/o process pulls those 2 elements out as well.
And something about the charge of the ions in the water, positive I believe, they continue to have an effect on Cal/Mag absorbtion.

No, I have read that without the minerals and stuff in the water to act as a buffer, the ph can go up and down like a whores G-String. So i decided against it, although i have a R/O machine at work. I just leave my tap water out for 48 hours before i use it so the chlorine evapourates.

we are just hiding, so keep posting
Cheers 121310 thats encouraging

So yesterday after some thought and discussion with the GF, we have decided to flip the lights 12/12 and start to induce flowering. I know this will decrease the yield but i want to get this grow out of the way so we can move out and then start the next grow.

I have a Question though; If i flip 12/12 to induce the flowering can i then adjust it to 16/8 or even 18/6 as they are autoflowers? Will they keep flowering? or would this just stress the hell outta the plants and possibly turn them hermie?

Since Putting The 600w HPS in with the 2 300w 6700k CFL's the temps have gone up to 32C-35C. Not to much of a problem just got to get a intake fan i think. The plants absolutely fucking love the HPS. They are literally 'reaching for the lights'. Obviously the space between nodes isn't as tight but they are really growing upwards and outwards.

Got the Cal/Mg today but its formulated for the veg stage not flowering so i will only be using it for 2 weeks untill i switch to the flowering nute schedule, i will have to buy the flower formula soon. I hope this Cal/Mg sorts the yellowing issue out because the leaves where it originally appeared are now completely dead and shriveled.

Anyway heres some pics

Not true about R/O water making PH swing !
Rez temps affect PH and PPM more than anything else, FIRST !
If temps are off, the whole process of bacteria/root rot sets off the beginning of a bad situation, including but not limited to PH/PPM swings.
The plants eating will be the primary factor making it fluctuate IF everything else is in order with the grow environment.
Been using NOTHING but R/O water my whole grow and my shit has been stable with no probs !

I may give it a go as i do have access to free R/O water, I use it at work. I might try after my next res change

Just got done reading your journal and thought I would drop you a line. I had problems with NL autos not flowering like they were supposed to. After 2 months or so under 18/6 I had to put them on 12/12 to get them to flower. I also emailed Nirvana and even after that amount of time they still asked me to be patient and told me that they should flower on their own.

Basically what I am trying to say is that you made the right decision by forcing them to flower.

Thanks for taking the time to read through.

Did you leave them on 12/12 or did you increase the light hours once they started to flower?

The plants are really filling out, there has been a growth explosion everywhere. i cant see any of the yellowing spreading to new growth so i think i did have a cal mag problem which hopefully is now sorted. Gonna get an intake fan next week to bring the heat down a bit, I think a 4" fan sucking cold air from the window should sort the problem, then i should be near optimum setup.....hopefully. I now have the hot air venting out into the house warming the house up.
