If you're in the states shipping will be anywhere from a couple weeks to well over a month.

Never ordered from nirvana but they should be legit.

Saying that though you got a lot of options from in States vendors. Great lakes genetics, Dcseedexchange and jamesbean company are a good start.

Hi,

Im a newbie in Chicago who was going to order from nirvana.nl for seeds. Is this place trustworthy??
Advice from someone not new:

You live in the United States. Our genetics are completely dominating industry and it isn't a marketing gimmick. The quality is incredible. You are new, start off with the best in the world. There's no reason to transport yourself back 30 years to European genes. Don't waste your time and money on inferior products. Just my 2cents. I respect nirvana and the time they've spent in the game but they are like all the other Euro breeders when it comes to ethics and what genetics actually are. Seeds are cheap enough stateside I see no reason to buy from them and take customs risk.

I've run gear from Nirvana in the past with no issues.
I also agree with 40Amp, there are plenty of domestic sources to get fire genetics.

Nirvana is good. I usually get it through seedsman as they have easier payment options.

In canada. If they confiscate your seeds and its under 30 grams they cannot open it, by law and they send you a letter. I had it happen once about 5 years ago, when it was still illegal to grow. I got a letter from the CBSA that said my package will be destroyed in 30 days if I don't reply, giving them permission to open the pkg. I showed nirvana, and they resent my seeds. I dont know how it works in USA. Nothing happened, but man I was freaking the fuck out for a few weeks.

I stopped buying euro like 7 years ago. The us stuff is just so great and there are great us banks now. So many small “mom and pop” breeders that put out great stuff

That being said Nirvana is good.

I can say my first genetics i bought were Nirvana, trying to save some costs. Grew outdoor and was dissapointed with the plant structure, growing the same seed indoors now, same problem. The seeds themselves were really small, and i thought there would be issues.

If you live in America, you have such a wealth of amazing cannabis genetics at your disposal. Buy some Humboldt Seed Company seeds and call it a day muchacho!

I don't really understand this mindset. What is inferior about the cannabis genetics in Europe? The more research that comes out about cannabis genetics the more and more all these "strains" or cultivars seem to be the same. I don't see how spending $120 on 7 feminized seeds is better than getting 20+ seeds from Nirvana of multiple "strains". I would rather spend $120 if I was a new grower having multiple seeds to go through as opposed to spending a ton of money on seven seeds. At the end of the day I could hand the cheapest seeds to a good grower and they will produce something that smokes great.

Because it's not the initial investment in seeds that is your biggest cost. Out of the money I spent to get started, work through my problems, upgrade equipment, and get my environment dialed in, seeds only accounted for about 10% of my initial cost, and they were $88 for 8 feminized seeds (plus 3 freebies from breeder), plus freebies from JBC seeds (fire). You're only talking $8 a seed, and if you have good genetics, its one less thing you have to battle during your first few grows. Use the freebies to get your feet wet, then pop the expensive beans :blsmoke:
If you only veg for 45 days, and are lucky enough to harvest at 8 weeks, that is 101 days from seed to harvest. Thats at least 101 times that your gonna check in your plants, and train, and feed, etc... and when something goes wrong, or your plant herms 4 weeks into flower, or the structure isn't good, growth is slow, etc... for 101 days you're gonna wish you had dropped a few more bucks. Because after 3 and a half months of tending to your plants, working through problems, and bringing her to the finish line, the last thing you want is to be disappointed. Imagine spending all that time and money, for results that are way more expensive, and of lower quality than you could purchase.
Break it down into days. 101 days, $8 per seed, thats 7 pennies a day to have peace of mind with quality genetics. And to be honest, I don't know much at all about Nirvana or what they offer. But there is a place to use discounted items, and places not to. I wouldn't recommend skimping on the actual plant your growing.

You know what they always say. Good genetics poorly grown is always better than inferior genetics grown great.
You can buy 3 packs of Nirvana and sift through to find a decent keeper or you could buy a 7 pack of CSI gear, start 3 seeds and have a hard time chucking 2 plants away.

How do you know they're quality genetics? Instagram pictures? There are hundreds if not thousands of grow reports on countless European breeders. Hell Nirvana alone probably has a couple thousand grow logs floating around the internet. You can find people who have had expensive genetics hermie on them and you can find people who have had amazing cannabis from cheap seeds. Guarantees don't come with genetics and I doubt the American breeders have been working lines long enough to make any guarantees.

I always heard nirvana and some other overseas breeders fell apart years ago, I buy both but they have to have a actual breeder not just employees and they have to have recent large test grows

No one has ever said that, lol. You reversed the saying, poor genetics grown well will beat great genetics grown poorly. A new grower isn't going to be getting the best out of the genetics and I guarantee someone out there has found better plants in Nirvana seeds than CSI gear. At the end of the day the science is showing that all these cultivars and crosses are extremely similar. I feel there truly are only a handful of cultivars that have been worked to a point where they're stable. Every month you have a new cross coming out from dozens of breeders, how is this possible? How can a breeder like Oni Seed Co that has been in business for 3 years have 30 different stabilized varieties of cannabis?
