Nitrogen Deficiency?

Got home from Thanksgiving to see this....

My babies had doubled in size, but now they're yellow and one of them has what looks like a burn on it

I've read up that this could be due to a Nitrogen Deficiency? I haven't given them any nutes yet.....

Thoughts/suggestions?

it looks burnt. the soil may be a little "hot". looks like it could use a little water. does your cup have drainage holes?

The lights are like 3" from the plants, from what I've read about CFLs that seems like TOO far away?

They were watered heavily on Wednesday.....the top of the soil mix is dry but I though it's supposed to be like that?

Cups have holes

No that's one thing I didn't buy

But the soil I started with was for seed starting, it had a ratio of 0-0.1-0, so I don't think it's the soil. No other nutes added yet either

Yes I constantly have a fan blowing on it, I very which way it blows and the speed that it blows

I have no idea

The only thing I could think is the burning part, but my lights aren't really close at all. All the grows with CFLs I see pretty much say to keep the light almost touching the plants.....my lights are like 3" from the plants

Yeah I don't know

I decided to water them. It's only been 2 days, but the soil was dry a few inches deep when I stuck my finger in, so I figured they could use a little water.

I also moved my lights away a little bit. Maybe they were just too close, producing too much heat, whatever?

Hopefully that'll help. I'm staying optimistic and trying not to mess with them too much.

I'm using tap water but it sits out for at least 24 hours before I water

My PH tester is in the mail
