Noob to noob: stress free transplants with $4 magic tool!

I was fortunate enough to stumble on to this site when I first started to grow, in December. Despite making every rookie mistake possible, the freely given help here from experienced growers repeatedly bailed me out. Now, as I harvest my 1st grow and work on my 2nd and 3rd, I've learned a couple of things, always the hard way, and stumbled on a magic tool! I have now made 5 transplants. The first was very badly done and I'm fortunate the plants survived the mishandling. By this 5th, and last time, things could not be smoother. I am so grateful for the help I've gotten here, that I am eager to give back, even with little to give at this point.

Here is a stress free way to go from seed to 3 gallon pot.

1. After soaking seeds for a day I put them right into one of those 16 oz plastic cups, buried a 1/4 inch deep in well watered soil, set them on top of the cable box in a humidity tent and in a few days they are all sprouted. I use to make the extra transplant from cube to cup, but now believe this is counter-productive.

2. When the seedlings are starting to veg and it's time to transplant: first, i give then a good watering then come back in a few hours. This allows the soil in the cups to pack nicely and stay intact when you turn the cup upside down for transplant.

3. 80% fill the 3 gallon pots with good soil, like Ocean Forest and pack it down some. Now comes the magic tool part.

4. Retrieve the BULB PLANTER, (the Magic Tool!), THAT YOU BOUGHT AT THE HARDWARE STORE FOR $4. USE IT!

5. Now that you have carved the perfect hole for your cup of plant with your $4 magic tool, go ahead and transplant it. Water thoroughly, (probably last time for a week or more.)

6. Go smoke a joint - smiling at how stress free the transplant was.
