hey all, If you want to get straight to the point go to *
I went out today to find a good area in a national park. I'm from Australia so it's very hot and a lot of bush is around. First off I walked for a good hour until i found a great spot and left coins there to see if anyone would grab them. Then started heading back and got absolutely lost. Had a kangaroo bolt right pass me say about a meter away bloody at first i didn't know what it was and nearly shat my self hahah. The coins i will never find my way back to so i have come to the conclusion to only plant say 10 min's from a track and hopefully no one will rip it. I didn't see anyone else grow the whole walk but i did see some blue ribbons tied to trees (right near track) started following them but then thought karma will get back at me and best to leave it. I am just wondering if i do plant far out which is best. What method can i use to get back there (my memory is shocking from all the token over the years). I had a compass but that didn't help me as i have to go all over the place to get back to the track. Anyway I am going to start a new thread and see what other people do. Any ideas?

I've been researching all week sorry if u answer this all the time i just need to check with you guys.
**OK so now i know where I'm gonna grow and checked the soil looks good i took a sample just encase anyone had any questions. I am planning on germinating 3 seeds(NRS white widow) and putting them straight in the soil. Now I have say 3 weeks to prepare. (sorry for all the Q's)

A. i here it is best to go out dig the whole (I'm gonna do 2' ft x 2' ft) add soil mix and every 3-4 days water it and turn it over (is this necessary or should i just wait a couple days before my seeds germinate to prepare soil earlier the better i guess).

B. Soil Mix I need some suggestions. Will this mix be good enough:

Ground soil 25%
Yates- General Purpose Potting Mix 25%
Organic Searles 5 IN 1 Plus 25% containing Cow, Fowl and Sheep Manures, Mushroom Compost, Zeolite, Blood and Bone, hoof and horn plus added Trace Elements and Minerals (slow release) but it doesn't say how much of each is in the mix just to use 1 part 'searles 5 in 1' and 2 parts ground soil for a good mix.
10% vermiculite
15% Perlite
Dolomite lime ( How much for each plant or per kg's of mix? should I Test ph b4 i do this)
OR should i skip the 5 in 1 and add it a month down the track

Iv really just made this up from the things i want to use and from the research iv done this week. **Will this be okay to pop seeds straight in or will the soil be to rich in nutrients** and how long till i have to add more nutrients will it just be a matter of when my leaves start yellowing up add the Searls 5 in 1 or will i need to buy some made up bottles? I'v been reading about the NPK do i need to start adding that later as well?
I'm assuming they go straight into flower as the sun may not hit them all day.

I just want an easy to care for grow doesn't have to be massive yield or that potent as its for myself only.
Am I going a bit over board here if i just want a decent grow or is it all necessary.

lol it's a bloody big read hope some one can get back to me so i can get this started.
I appreciate any help or suggestions i can get!

Hey mate wats crackin i am also in aus um as for findin a spot try leaving an a trail of colour not vibrant but noticable hav u site around half hour from the track just to be safe! mark the entrance of your trail with a large rock or log and from there on in have your coloured trail leading inwards high and low i.e say u choose the colour dark green get some green cottton and wrap indistinctly around a bush on the side of the trail then 5 -10 meters on sprinkle some crushed green chalk on the ground something along those lines just to keep u on trak a handy guide on ur choice of gro i.e guerilla search youtube for a video by the name of kog a grower's lot its very informative and he also uses searles 5-1 hope this helps mate hit me up if u need more help as i have alot more info to offer!

Cheers for the quick reply guys. Yer i saw that video a while ago it was a good help but Don't think he used 5 in 1 he used something similar tho, and the GPS thing is exactly what i need but i don't want to fork out 100 buks for one so i might just stick to weedmans idea. So For now i just need to find a good soil recipe and Some Nutrients(need help big time). So should I go dig the wholes and put a soil mix in now and water it every now and then or wait till the plants are ready to go in. I was thinking also to start the plants on my balcony (No direct sunlight) and transferring them to the spot when there stronger. I was told pro-mix, bone and blood meal and mushroom compost is a good mix but i still like the 5 in 1 as its got everything (just don't know how much of)
Cheers again

Cheers for checking up on us. I really don't mind if it's organic or not i just thought that it would be best. I just went out at bought some verm and perlite the other day so thats gonna be in there. I'm a bit confused with the blood and bone ferts. If i don't use any organic nutes. Do i just grow the plant till it looks like it needs ferts and then add my fert. I was under the impression that i need to add organic ferts and then they will run out and then start adding chemical ferts, because if i put to much organic in the soil they will burn my plants. I would prefer to forget about organics all together and just go the chemicals but people always talk about putting in wormcastings, other manures and things soi thought i would. I actully got reffered to the canna fert by someone else and was very amazed by it the only thing that threw me of was the instructions i didn't want to buy a EC meter for 50 buks to find out how much my tap water ec is. I was thinking of going with earth juice as it seems easier. Should i buy an ec or is there another way to check the ec of my tap water.
Also i thought i'd use this soil mix i came up with a couple days ago don't know yet though
25% Native soil
25% of any good potting mix i can find(including water crystals)
25% Mix of 5 in 1
containing Cow, Fowl and Sheep Manures, Mushroom Compost, Zeolite, Blood & Bone, hoof and horn plus added Trace Elements and Minerals
10% vermiculite
15% perlite
1/2 cup D. Lime (will check Ph before i use)

Thanks
appreciate any advice you can give me.

hey man yer 4 sure go all organic its worth it its not hard and u dont need an ec meter i have never used 1 and i have had no probs as for burning ur plants and over furtilizing read subcools soil mix do something like that so that u have a soil mix with ample nutes to get the plant going and start of the veg stage then once you see signs of definecy then fertilize wit bio canna just follow directions i.e 20ml/10l and u should end up wit a bumper crop and minimal fuss :bigjoint:

oh and as for 25% 5in1 no way man that will burn the shit outa ur babies u have to have a base soil mix that will provide ample nutes but wont burn em so use my recipe for amount of ingredints and use ur own recipe u will prob only need 2 cups of 5in1 2 cups b/b 50% native soil 30% potting mix 10% perlite 10% vermiculite 1/2 cup lime for 3 plants just fuck around a bit its very much a see it to belive it learning process so to speak sorry if this or my previous post didnt make sense im baked as thank u tga/subcool for pandoras box
