Northern Lights auto grow

Went to home depot today and made my own grow box. Closet nanny storage organizer. Drilled 2 holes in the top for two socket wires to snake through. Tired the wires down on top to keep it sturdy. Joined those wires to an extension cord. Ghetto cardboard front but my wife is urging me to cover it with a stylish tablecloth for when there are guests..

4 lights: 3 daylight 100w , 1600 lumen CFLs and one soft white led. Don't ask, it just ended up that way.

Need to figure out the best way to get my fan to circulate air through this without losing to much light.

:? my seeds were supposed to come today.. Looks like there's delay. Can't wait

I would not use that clear bucket that you have set in the cabinet. Roots don't like light.

The lights being used are actually only about 23-25 watts each, which is perfectly fine for that size cabinet.

You will need a hole in the cabinet the bring fresh air in. You could use a PC fan at the hole to blow air in our out.

Thanks. I think I'll wrap it in duct tape or something

i have germed a total of 18 out of 18 seeds over the last few months. i used the water method each time and it works great.

make sure they sink to the bottom of glass and when it cracks i let them pop out a good 1/4 to 1/2 of an inch. then paper towel for a day or 2. had 100% germ with this way of germing. im new to growing but thought i would pass that along.

good luck man.

Thanks for the advice. Yup they sunk to the bottom and the pedicles are visible. Kind of Peeking out of the shell like a turtle head.

I might do paper towel next. Will post pic

The good thing about the box I got is I can take out the screws from the shelf and alter the distance from the light by lowering the shelf. Also, if it grows super big, these closet maid shelving units are stackable and I can just buy another one for underneath and alter which shelves I use however I want.

Why not just get a tent? You can get a Secret Jardin for around $125.00. That and a good LED will make all the difference in the end. When I first started out I took so much bad advice hence the two large boxes of junk taking up room in my garage now. The only things in my tent now is a timer, fan, a LED, the plant in smart pot, and temp/humidity gauge. My light is a few years old. For less than $600 bucks you can have a complete rig that turns out great smoke for next to nothing. Just water and feed when required. Anyway, that's what has been working for me for a few years now.

I don't know why these seeds are taking so long to sprout the pedicle. I grew before, years ago, and I don't remember it taking this long. Here are my babies, big one and little.

Ultimately I see myself having a tent. Seems low enough maintenance for me. It has its pros.. Went the diy route for this grow. This thread be an example, good or bad

Alright well. Since they're both open, putting them in soil. Hopefully they weren't in water for too long. Will post when they sprout

Big Easy is right...these tents are totally designed for the optimum easy maintenance grow op indoors. It's fun doin the small cabinet grows, but tough (for most) I think to get a great yield. I will definitely be upgrading to a tent in the future, but for now if a micro grow is all ya got then go for it. Here's a shot of my box>

bro do yourself a huge favor and order yourself a POS led from china for like 150 itll give you way better light than those cfls and itll fit your box nicely plus you can use it once you upgrade to a tent
