This is my first post and I'm about to harvest some dank ak48 tomorrow. I'm wondering if after the buds dry will it be ok to put them in jars and not burp them for a few days? The problem is that I'm going out of town right after there done drying and I won't be able to open them everyday

After they dry put the buds in a Rubbermaid tote with the humidity/temp gauge from your grow room. tape shut and give it a few hours to settle and crack open the tote and check the buds rh.

Highly recommend getting some RH meters , guessing how wet your buds are is too much of a gamble , especially after all of your hard work.

With monitoring you can know HOW MUCH burping you may have to do. .
Once i hit the range i want , i leave them alone longer .

Order some like these , easy to throw into jar.

If you can get buds UNDER 70% .... BEFORE you leave for a couple days , you will be fine. Just put the jars in a dark , cool place ( bottom of drawer , closet corner , box in basement , whatever ) . Jarring the TOO WET is what will fuck up the cure and mold out.

You can pick up some good hygrometers cheap on eBay. I put one in each jar. Eliminates any guessing. As long as it is in the ideal curing range (60+/-5 %RH) I don't burp them more than a couple of times early on.

You CAN also Brown Bag your Buds to help dry them ... Plain brown bags allow enough air flow through it. Some throw shade on this method but it works for me. I am able to aerate all of the buds by gently rolling the closed bag and monitor the chlorophyll smell evident from drying buds.

Then jar up as usual ....

If you have 'dried' buds with branches that snap when you bend them, they will moisten up when you put them in jars. In my experience, you better be checking those jars 2 - 3 times a day for the first week, then daily for the next 2 weeks. If you're going to be gone for days and the bud in the jars is not holding steady at 63% RH or less, do NOT put them in jars with the lids on. You will return to jars of mold.

I would do what Budzbuddha said, put them in a paper bag and fold over the top while you're gone. Several guys here have mentioned that they have accidentally left buds in paper bags for months and the bud turned out fine. It's not ideal, but it's much better than coming home to moldy, unsmokeable product.

What do y'all think about refrigerating for a few days? I had to be away during burping and did a paper bag for a day then jarred with Boveda 62 then to fridge for a few days then came back, removed Boveda, and resumed curing/burping. Seemed to work fine
