Barely enough to do one,I would use that and 3-4 CFL's just to do one.

look into a 400/600 watt electronic ballast,400MH for veg and 600w HPS for flower.

the 400/600 should do 3-6 plants if you do it right
8 if you want it really really cramped.

Dude, don't go back to that shop because they either lied to you or don't have a clue because 70 watts isn't going to be enough to properly flower one plant. I don't go more than 2 plants max with my 250w HPS. Good Luck and Happy Growing.

go back to the shop.. to return the light. Get a 250 or 400 and you will be fine if all you want to do it 2 plants. The 250 will be easier to cool, the 400 will give you great potential, but needs some planning for ventilation.

You can get a better deal online usually, and tons of reviews that are usually not done by someone trying to sell you garbage.

250w is good for 2'X2', 70w being about a third as powerful should be good for about 8"x8".
You could do a few tiny plants or one small one. In my 2'X2' tent ive done four plants in 11L and nine in 6L. More bud off the four but better quality off the nine.
It all boils down to what space you have for flowering 250w 2'X2', 400W 3'X3', 600W 4'X4'.
When I bought my first grow set up it was a 1x1X2m tent with 600w lighting kit, 4" extraction kit, and ph pen ive never used.

I learnt in a heart beat the light was too big for the tent (unless aircooled) the extraction was too small for the tent, and i needed an intake.

I went back to the grow shop and said their package was wack, they agreed and we haggled and i got what i wanted. You figure you want a bigger light take it back, say you only run it once to check it out and you want a bigger one.
They put it in a new box, no one knows everyone happy!

70 watt hps can flower 2 very small plants (autos) or one medium-small plant and a small plant,or two medium plants with training and great reflection.

This is great info, you should look at watts as it pertains to footprint, not watts per light since you can grow one plant that covers 3x3 or you could maybe putt 9 in that same space (or more?) if you did a bunch of smaller plants (SOG)

If $ is an issue, at least get a 150W light ( $80 or less ). You can do 4 plants in there going perpetual 12/12 from seed and have all the personal smoke you need. And you won't need anything to keep your tent cool except a few strategically placed clip fans.

If it's within the first three days and they won't even exchange it for store credit it lets me know they are shady. I ran a few retail stores, some of the owners were shady and would stall on returns. Not very ethical in my opinion.

Are you going to be picking up some t5's?

I would say fo $15 you learned a very valuable lesson about this vendor, you probably got off cheap. Now you know to stay away from them.

on the plus side you wont have much issue on heat imo. You will need to get right up on them mofo and keep the spectrum flowering spread between 2k and 6500. Just using the 6500 is enough to promote flowering but wont dense them buds up very much. For future reference t5 for veg and 250 hps to flower min. for 2x2. You need to match atleast in lums per square foot as you can get outdoors. Of course its a sliding scale to little slows and you can never have to much. only to much heat.
