I'm looking to try them this next round. Do you use them?
they look like trendy luggage!.....carry on, on a plane......i do think the velcro sides are a nobel idea, but i also think that if you have your transplanting schedule down, and you know your plants, hard side pots work killer for veg pots before transplanting into a final big smartie for flowering ...imho......there is an art to transplantingtiming ...

Agreed on the timing. My goal is to not wait too long. I'll try the velcro Geo Pots and take pics and post commentary.

the make awesome one gallon geopots that are fantastic. i think the advantage is the larger size pots with smaller foot prints than traditional smarties...

i am going to veg in 1-2 gallon plastic round pots and then transfer into 5gall GEOpots 2 weeks before 12/12....

dude at growshop swears by them....also, good reviews on the net

yo know bro, i just don't have very much experience with them yet.....vortex is the most sativa i have grown so far, and i just do this to her, a simple main-lined, modular scrog..... and it works very well....

Before you did mainline shapes how did you prune? These are just natural bushes with very little manipulation (except for the LST plant). I hear people talk about lollypopping but I have never seen the technique described. I guess I will go on YouTube and find something.

Cheers,
Mo

i was always big on removing the centers out of my plants for air flow, and to spread the canopy out...so the main would come out...but pretty late...like 4-5 nodes worth, and maybe keep 4 nodes worth below the top....four a bush with 8 mains.....kind of....mainlining is my way now!

transplanting sequence.........

notes.....timing just right for root mass in 5 gal. pails to 20 gal. smarts......had to plant at an angle to align the plant properly due to heavily pre-bonded trunks......all have established 16 heads....heavy LST after transplant.....last pic, vortex set-up for mainlined modular height adjustable scrog.......enjoy....long day today!...nugs:leaf:

Nugs, is there a name for your forcing them to display their sex early? That might just save me.

I see. So if I googled that... you suppose I'd find something related to growing? :hump:

At three weeks you do the first cut (like Subcool does). Are you able to put that cutting in the light, then the dark to force flowering? I thought you had to wait until the fourth week to get a cuting that would reveal flowers.

you would see something growing alright, i'm sure! lol

i sex from seed bro, i just switch to 12/12 around day 21 from sprout, when they are about 8 inches tall...takes about 5 days to weed out the males.....then i immediately top them, switch back to 20/4 and start my mainlining gig....

Sweet. I didn't know you could do a light switcheroo like that. Thanks. I thought sure you were sexing the cutting.

After showing the males the door, if you didn't want / need clones, you could top the remaining females all the way down to the first node, couldn't you? Instead of cutting again in two weeks?

sure, i just don't use the very first two with the single leaf, and three blader....usually the third or fourth with a mature set.
