What I want to know, what the hell is the recipe on the bottles for? Why haven’t they updated those in decades?

As to the lucas discussion. I found it to be superb for smaller plants in flood and drain so long as coco isn't involved.

When I switched from large plant count flood and drain SoG to growing giant big ass trees it doesn't work so well and I started having to add the grow. Anyone out there growing giant trees indoors with lucas? I would like to hear how it works for them.
I don't seem to have a problem with using Lucas formula to grow my big Sour D trees. My Sour D doesn't like a lot of N so I can only use the 5/10 formula. I have tried many different nutes and almost always do side by side comparisons and always go back to Lucas. I get the same results with Floranova, maybe better, so I have gravitated to that. I grow 4 trees per 600 hps and get 4-6 zips per tree. Not as much as most people post but it keeps me happy.

4/8 or 5/10 worked great for me.
Ok, thanks I will go with your suggestion, 4/8 or 5/10. This does seem to be a popular ratio. Not to be a pain in your arss, throughout veg and flower? I would guess you want more N in veg? But then again I seem to think wrong most of the time.:wall:

i started with 1:2 with seedlings and work up as the plant can handle it. it works start to finish.

I still consider that a small plant. Mine pull 4 - 4.5 # per plant. I use side lighting and side trellis blah blah... Only way to pull weight off a plant count grow.
Are your veg plant numbers limited or just flowering?

Some people complain about the thick drape and the residue that FloraNova leaves in your res and pumps, sprayers, tubes and such.
Do you also have this problem if you use GH FloraTrio and apply the Lucas Formula?

Not at 5/10. I use it in a flood table too. It leaves a little residue but doesn't seem to harm anything and, it all gets washed down between grows.

Sorry to bump this old thread. I’ve been looking for something to switch to from emerald harvest and found the Lucas formula. But you’re saying you wouldn’t run it in coco?

Years ago there was an excel spreadsheet preloaded with GH flora values and you could plug in your numbers and get all the data. It was originally kind of passed around along with Lucas formula so people could see that you hit all your numbers. I was always able to find it on the net by searching Lucas formula spreadsheet but that no longer works. Anybody happen to know where I can find a copy these days? Thanks

Under Colorado medical law I can't have more than half my plant count in flower.
Renfro,
You have really been busy! So I have an 18 site veg system so I could only do 9 in flower in Colorado. Shit my flower room is 12 site. Quick cut 6 clones! ‍
No one can count around here anyway!
Sorry to bump a two year old thread but it’s still relevant. I tried AN and got such a buildup of crap during a grow in the RDWC that ppm were crazy, left sludge in the individual containers. So then I went to Greenleaf Nutrients two part. This grew nice heavy flowers but I was constantly fighting with root fungi of one sort or another. I made a change of both the nutrients (to gh flora trio) and also introduced Heisenberg tea to the RDWC. I know never change two variables! Anyway, the first 12 plants have had various degrees of root fungi that is not present on the next 6 (12 sites, 6 sites 4 weeks apart). I’m interested to see how the harvest goes. The first 12 were painfully low weight. My plants are 5’ tall and i lollipop the bottom 3 feet. Super-cropping keeps 8-10 colas 20” below the 600w Scynce Dragon Alpha LEDs suspended above each of the 6 sites. With Greenleaf Nutrients and root fungi I could expect 1oz/sqft and usually get 2oz/sqft. Since changing I have been using 1tsp/gal flora trio and 1/2 tsp/gal calimagic in flower. It was suggested to me that this was way too much and I should be closer to 1/2tsp/gal for the trio in flower. I also measured slightly different actual ppm. Could it be the formula was changed?

Fully open to any good ideas!
Thanks!
