Nute relate yellowing in the last few weeks of flower

I know that a lot of fan leaves turn yellow in the last few weeks but with all the yellow I've been getting, 2nd grow in a row, I wonder if I need to make an adjustment. I've been feeding with General Organics GO box at 50%, every other watering and I'm growing in Ocean Forest soil. Any advice on cutting back this yellow or is it not a huge deal?

Plant foods lopsided in P and K cause premature leaf drop and will hurt yields if used incorrectly. If you see yellowing and you're positive you're doing everything else correctly, hit them with some grow formula before the yellowing starts. The idea is to maintain a healthy plant all the way until harvest and if that means using 'grow' instead of 'bloom', that's what you need to do. View those bottles as 'tools' and use them when your plant says you need to.

If you're infact feeding with plenty of N and are scratching your head at why chlorosis is occurring, tap water can be the culprit too. If you're able to, post some pictures of your plants. That could narrow down a few things.

Thanks. That seems like good insight. I gave them a shot of 4-3-3 grow nutes. Figured it probably can't hurt.

Day 38 of flowering. Maybe I've been relying on the GO formula too much? (At 50%, every other watering.)

The plants on the left are 3 weeks behind and, as you can see, are all green.

Here's a shot after I pruned some yellow leaves today. The buds are swelling up nicely but now wondering if all this pruning will diminish yield.

I think your green plants look great and your plants with yellow leaves look underfed with N. Do you have any fast-acting organic N? Does that even exist? I'd use nitrate nitrogen to green them up, maybe even a calcium nitrate but that's probably not what you're looking to do. Whatever you're doing to your 'green' plants, keep doing it, they look very happy and happy plants produce great flowers.

Oh, I wouldn't prune your plants in the future. Leaves drive production.

Well, the yellow plants were as green as the others, a couple of weeks ago! I just seem to hit this problem after about 4 weeks of flowering. (As the green plants are 3 weeks behind.) A little early to tell yet but it looks like the 4-3-3 shot might've done some good. I will get something for faster nitrogen replenishment today at the grow store and see what that does. I guess I just can't trust sliding along with the General Organics GO Box plan. BTW, I only pruned the leaves deep in shade and the yellow ones . Lot's of yellow ones. Thanks for your help, home, rep+ to you.

I see on the online menu from my grow store, "Mexican Bat Guano (10-2-1)" for $7. Does that sound like a quick fix idea?

Usually those sorts of products take weeks to work as they need broken down and converted by the micro herd. I've never done this but if you're an organic fanatic, your own urine would green those up (on paper) at a dilution rate of 1:10 urine-to-water. Again, I have not done this (and wouldn't as I have other tools to fix an issue like this), research it a bit if that appeals to you.

If you like GH and aren't such a stickler for 100% organic, GH micro is nearly all nitrate nitrogen and a teaspoon per gallon should be plenty. A few shots of that (assuming your medium is free of salt buildup) will definitely green plants up as I do that myself from time to time.

The woman at the grow store told me that the guano wouldn't be right for this and suggested that i just go with the 4-3-3 grow nutes. I'm going to check another store for the GH micro or look on the web for it. Also, I'll do a search on urine to see if there's any first hand info. Thanks for the help, bro. I'll keep this thread going.

Mexican Bat Guano (10-2-1) is good...have to top dress and wait to see the change in about week, dont top dress more it can burn crap out of plant ! if the plant havent change...top dress again, it should change by few days to week...but i prefer Alaska s Fish poop 5-1-1 that sell at local Homedepot or Lowes, its kind of liquid...impossible to burn and the best for ogranic grow :D

Homebrewer is right about GH Mirco if you decide to change the route from organic to synethic...its nothing wrong with it my friend , good luck :D

Happy growing and peace.

Update: going with 4-3-3 seems to have been a good move. Some green is coming back. I am also going to get some GH Micro and look for some Alaskan fish poop at Lowes. I've got a lot to learn about nutes! Thanks for the help.

I've never grown with urine and don't plan too, but remember from somewhere that urine has a lot of urea in it. It would have to be pretty diluted to not really burn plants. Think about when you go to bathroom outside and it kills all the plants around the spot. Dogs and cats kill plants constantly by supplying too much nitrogen to them.
