I’m using Jacks base nutrients in coco, and I have been experimenting with various additives, mostly organic, aminos and enzymes, along with fulvic and humic acids. I am interested in House & Garden’s shooting powder. The website is quite vague on exactly what the product is, it just says:

“Overview Shooting Powder is a premium phosphorous and potassium based nutrient that's designed to give your plants a final push in the flowering phase of the growth cycle. General Information Shooting powder provides pre-cursors for ATP synthesis which in turn will give your plants a basis to increase flower weight towards the end of the cycle. This premium additive is suitable for use with any grow medium and in any grow system.”

It contains Potassium sulfate, potassium carbonate and potassium phosphate, I can get these much cheaper, is there some proprietary blend, or otherwise unavailable quality, or secret ratio that makes this a unique product, or is there a cheaper just as effective route?

When it comes to nutes you can allways find it cheaper especially if its advertised as cannabis nutes they are allways overpriced. Some crap you can find in normal hardware store made for painting or for some other plant but its 1:1 same stuff usually just more concentrated

Aspirin

Got a headache? If so, you reach for the aspirin or something similar, right? Depending on what you have in your medicine cabinet, it’s possible you can use it as a rooting hormone for your indoor plants.

Aspirin must be in pill format and it must have no coating. It’s recommended to use a tablet containing 325 milligrams. Then you can get started making it into a natural rooting hormone.

If you’re wondering why aspirin works for a houseplant, it’s because of an ingredient in the pill: salicylic acid. This acid, as we explained, can safeguard your plant from fungus and bacteria as the roots grow.

Now that you’re ready to make a natural rooting hormone with aspirin, here’s what you have to do.

Step 1: If you don’t already own one, go to a pharmacy and buy a pill crusher.

Step 2: Place your uncoated tablet inside the pill crusher.

Step 3: Break down the aspirin with the pill crusher until it’s crushed into chunks.

Step 4: Remove the tablet from the pill crusher. Now, using your fist, a mortar and pestle, or some other method, continue breaking down the aspirin until it’s nothing more than a powder.

Step 5: Take your powder and transfer it to a bowl or container. Moisten your plant ends.

Step 6: Next, take your plant ends and dip them into the aspirin. Put the trimmings in your rooting medium to jumpstart the root growth process.

That's the ploy that the marketing division of these companies hopes you will blindly believe.

And when all those go into solution you will have potassium cations and sulfate, carbonate and phosphate anions. Jacks already supplies those in abundance other than carbonate. If you want some carbonate use tap or well water.

That’s what I generally do, but for some reason it seems harder to find what this product is derived from, or any of house and gardens line, but the sh*t works wonders, what I’ve used so far at least.
