Nutrients Smell

I mix up 2 or 3 days worth of nutrients and on the 2nd and 3rd day they get this sickly smell.
Am I making a mistake should I just be mixing up enough for the day?

You should aerate the mix if you want to mix it before hand. Add an air stone to your reservoir. Check the Ph everyday or so, as air will make the Ph rise.

What are you using for nutes?

Hello Anybody,
Am I making a mistake by mixing 3 days worth of NUTRIENTS at a time.
On the 2nd day it has a bad smell on the 3rd da y it is worse.
For a soil grow.

Yes you're making a mistake if it reaks. Are they organic nutrients, or what are you using?

I would just mix up what I needed at that moment, because whether you are using salts or organics, bacteria will start to form immediately! But like others said you can use things like a airstone or continuous flow to keep the mix oxygenated. I like continuous flow because it constantly adds oxygen to the feed while also continually mixing the feed from the bottom of the bucket to the top of the bucket!

I used ro use a cheep item from a fish store called a water mover. it will keep things moving, I found, an air stone, adding Oxygen just aided for bacterial growth. but as others have suggested mixing what is needed for that feeding is better. is there a reason that you are mixing larger amounts then needed?
