Nutrients

Hey MadDog,

I certainly am in zero position to dispute the actual company's feeding charts, but I will say that I believe they are a bit generalized, and I seem to lock my plants up anytime I use above 50% of the recommended percentage across the board for the 3 part GH Flora series. Definitely seek info. from more than myself though, as I don't want to profess that I am a pro, just sharing what I have experienced:

I run 2.5 gal res in independent 5 gal buckets, and my ppms near the danger zone if they approach 700 to 800 ppm. I run my girls at under 500 until full flower (and of course, I start lower than that when my roots pop (200 to 300 ppm).

Good luck, and peace.

Thanks Fykshum. Everything i have read say to keep it around 500ppm. I think the chart is accounting for all the nutrients including the rapid start and other stuff. If i use just the base nutrients it will be much less ppm, right? Is that how that works?

I've used the GH flora series for about 4 years in ebb & flow systems. I started exactly as are were saying, the 3 base nutrients and calmag. Since i have started using the diamond nectar and a root stimulator plus some other bloom additives. I haven't had any lock out problems unless there is a ph problem (usually caused by algae in the res). But all in all i think it would be a good starting point for you. Just keep light out of ur res and ur water topped off

Yeah, MadDog, I think your assessment is right on, and I also think that Clay has some solid knowledge of the additives that I do not use, so you may want to ping him back for a bit more info if still interested in running the full spectrum of GH products. Peace.
