I do agree that the piff isnt the same...i had an ounce of the exact shit I used to sell and it was about half as potent as it used to be.
Then again, its all about who grows it.
Im sure that theres potent piff to be had out there.
Ive had better haze than the piff before too....but it was insanely hard to get, while the piff was just a phone call away.
A lot of G13 Haze ive had was more potent.
Ive had Purple Haze that was better too.
And this 1 haze i had.....i had it on 2006....been on a search for it ever since and i dont think ill ever find it again.......but it was the stickiest weed ive ever had by far! When smoking it, it tasted like waffles/pancakes (no fucking lie) and the exhale tasted like a syrup-haze flavor!.....it was the most potent weed ive ever smoked in my life......made you feel happy, didnt put you to sleep but didnt energize you either, just perfect chilling out weed......and the high lasted anywhere between 5-8 hours!......nothing gets me high for more than 2-3 hours now.......it smelt incredible, tasted incredible, looked incredible but very haze-like so airy fluffy buds kind of a golden and green coloring to it......you could smell that shit burning about 3-4 blocks away......i dont think ill ever smoke anything better. It went for $500/ounce and was worth every single penny.
Sounds like haze that was around right before everything became “piff” 2006 was 100% a golden year and 2005 .. but the busts happen in Florida in 2007 and newer strains like green crack and blue cheese where taking over from out west .. in 2006-09 I used to get a lot of OG from a dispo out west the ticket was insane like 38-48 a plate .. so piff started to have competition ..
Another thing I noticed was some dudes would have the fire fire and some would have some Ok shit ..
but back to the piff thing so the dudes with the fire wanted to separate themselves from the dudes with the ok and started calling there batches “piff” so people started to only want “piff” I was smoking haze for years then one day a dude I kno came bragging about piff it was just top shelf haze like really top shelf .. if I was to guess based on my knowledge now of cannabis it was prolly indoor I’m almost positive and the ok batches was just outdoor and the piff was indoor .. This is also why some zips where 450-500 all day no breaks and some where 350 all day ..
No it being indoor makes a lot of sense now ..

when I see people use the piff name to sell seeds I’m skeptical always knowing the history of that name .. but dudes like piff coast are cool and really keeping the history of nyc haze going so that’s cool
I think a lot of people have smoked haze or piff if u ever smoked some top shelf nevils or silver haze or nl5 haze that’s piff in a nutshell.. it’s not for everyone the paranoia ,heart racing intense high it’s like fine wine
my last part of my rant lol .. people keep saying the haze was all these diff genetics and It was more than likely what was popular back then and the top hazes where silver / nl5 / nevil / skunk haze / amnesia .. I assume they would grow diff strains upgrading as seed banks released them crossing the ones they liked ..the ones labeled piff weren’t chunky it was foxtailed heavy with lots of hairs
