OK, here we go...Noob w/4-24" cfl closet set-up

I've been watching other noobs do their journals for a little while now, so I it's my turn. I planted 12 days ago on 4-29-08 with 4 seeds from bagseed in each of 2 autopots. Just want to get some feed back about how they look at this point. I'm at work right now so I'll have to get back with you all on what nutes I'm using (got them from local hydro store with their input, black bottle but don't recall the name). So far I'd have to say that the "Autopot" system they recommended for the casual grower with not a lot of ability to spend a lot of time with my (hopefully) girls. Wife is not a big fan of my usage anyway. So I built an entire addition to build my grow room. It's nothing more than a closet set up. Hidden room that measures 24"X5'X8' tall. Lights are 4-24" cfl and at this point on 22 of 24 with fan on 6 hours a day.

So, at this point I just need some feedback as to what you guys think the start looks like after this length of time. As you can see, I have a slow starter in the second pic. "She" just poked her gorgeous head out 2 days ago. Maybe slow stone too, hopefully long as well.

TALK TO ME PEOPLE! And thanks for any input or questions. I have full confidence in your guidance.

Are you growing in woodchips??? You will need to put the plants in seperate pots before the roots get tangled. A new soil mix would be good too. I use 1pt perlite, 1pt peat moss both non miracle grow, and 1pt mushroom compost. I add 1 tablespoon of dolomite lime per gallon of soil. You want your soil to have no time release nutrients in it and to be light and drain well. Your plants look real healthy nice job so far.

It's called coco. It was recommended by the hydro people. Holds 65% water and 35% air for easy nute intake and water. Again, I have a limited room size and I want a decent payout in the end, so, I plan on letting them grow until sexed. Then remove males hoping to have 2 fems per pot. Nutes and water shouldn't (I was told) be a problem with 2 plants per pot. You think it'll be OK?:blsmoke::roll::peace::confused:

I know what coco is, I'm just used to seeing it look more like peat moss. You can grow two in one pot but the rule of thumb is 1 plant per pot. The plants will need more room once they get larger. What if 3 or 4 of the seeds are female, how are you going to seperate when the roots are entangled?

You're right, what if I get lucky enough to have 3 or 4 fems in a pot? Well, the only thing I can think of is performing a little pick-n-choose. I'll have to remove the smaller to make room for the bigger (is it ok to just cut the stalk instead of removing the whole plant?). Do a little natural selection of my own & sacrifice the small for the health of the "family". Again, I'm a noob. NEVER grew before, so I'm a sponge for info & input. And again, thanks for the responses gangjababy. Also, didn't mean to make it sound like I was "instructing" YOU with the coco definition. Sorry:-?!

Here are my babies on their 16th (day) birthdaybongsmilie. As you can see, they're starting to sprout new growth much faster (must be root system has settled down). My slow starter is still the runt of the litter (second pic) but is trying to catch up. The last pic shows more of my set-up and concealed grow area. It looks like the newer leaves are starting to look a little yellowish compared to the first set underneath them. Is that normal for young plants and will they get darker green too? The leaves seem to be sturdy & not drooping at all and no spots. I'm hopefully getting worried over nothing but I never did this before so I'm just being cautious. I'm still curious as to whether or not I can successfully grow 2 adult plants in each of these 2 autopots. I know I'll have to sacrifice 2 plants in each pot (male OR female) so they don't get too much stress from roots growing tangled.:? I've heard that it's possible to sex them before they go into flowering stage, is this true? If so, how do I tell?

They are on a 24/24 lighting schedule with 6 hours of fan blowing for stalk strength (is that enough time?). Again, just looking for input as to the looks and status of my babies. BTW, the nutes I use are "Ionic" brand "growth" for veg stage at this point. I love not having to water on a schedule and the freedom these "autopots" give me to grow non-stop and still go on vacations or leave for extended periods. No power needed for pumps or anything but the lights, timer, air pump & fan. Very little noise---the wife still has good hearing---I don't. Remember, this is a stealth grow, not even the wife knows...only you people do...lol.:peace::mrgreen::peace::mrgreen: --'cause you don't know where I live...lol8)
