@RadicalRoss I've been looking at LED options. I stopped growing for a few years and LEDs have come a long way since then. I tried some LEDs like 10 years ago, and although the buds were way more frosty compared to MH/HPS, the plants were tiny. In a footprint where I would normally do 3/4 lb or 1lb with 1000w MH/HPS, I got like 1/4 lb with LED of "equivalent" capacity.

I've seen plenty of posts with good looking pics under MarsHydro lights. I don't have any LED experience to make my own comparisons.

Thanks for the info

Yeah I put very little stock into any LED company's supposed "equivalent to" wattage. I'm using as my metric for a "successful" grow here at least pulling in 1g/W drawn from the wall. One of my friends just did closer to 1.3 or 1.4 and he's newer to cananbis growing as well.

That’s about what we pulled on our last run with the HLG’s. 1.4 g per watt. Not too shabby, but shooting for 1.7-2.0 this round.

@DoubleAtotheRON How did the process go for initial application and renewal of your grow license? Was it easy to just follow the steps on the OMMA website? Are you in a municipality with any zoning issues for your property? Did you have any other regulatory hurdles to clear to getting started?

I've heard murmuring that license fees will increase significantly, but I haven't found that clearly indicated on any reliable industry or official site. Have you heard similar speculations?

Renewal was smooth. We are rural, so we don’t have to mess with the city’s bullshit. I have also hear rumors about fees going to $10,000 but I don’t think it will pass.

Never thought I’d see it legal here in my lifetime!
They mention the name Norma Sapp in the article. I met her like 10 years ago...in the olden days. Super nice woman. She was, and I believe, still is the head of OKNORML. For a long time she was a lone crusader, going frequently to the Capitol in OKC to push for legalization. I'm sure there were other important players in the final years leading up to the current legal situation, but Norma was fighting an underappreciated fight for a long time before that. We owe her a debt of gratitude.

Yes, Norma has dedicated her life to legalizing weed here. Her time and effort has paid off many times over. I just wish that 788 didn’t allow 25% Out of State ownership. That really fucked things up for everybody. These people are “State Hoppers”.. they come in, make a bunch of money, fuck people out of deals, and then move on to the next State that is about to flip.

The market is pretty rough right now still. Some Dispo owner told me the other day he’s paying like $1600 a lb. ... I was like “for indoor?”.. he said yeah, but it could have been greenhouse. We may have to sit on this current crop for a while till all that shit clears the market.

The first time I met Norma was in the office of senator Constance Johnson, who was really the only one openly supporting MMJ back in the day when I returned from a stint in CA. I went to the Capitol to meet my senator and rep, and went to tell Johnson that I support and encourage her to fight for legalization. I've known of some state hoppers. Like it says in the article, we have the most free market for MMJ of any of the legal states because of the unlimited and inexpensive entry to commercial business.

BTW: I talked to Norma for a while today. I hadn't thought about her in years, and when I saw her name in the article, I figured I should give her a call and express my gratitude. I asked her the question I posted to you a couple weeks back about increases in license fees. She told me she's heard people saying that, but she has no idea how it got started. She's well connected with people at the Capitol and OMMA regarding MMJ legislation issues, and she seemed confident that it was an untrue rumor. She said the most influential people in the house/senate regarding this issue are intent on keeping it as free market as possible.

That’s awesome!... yeah, I’ve never seen so many Cali, CO, WA license plates around here in my life. What part of the State are you in?

I’m out in the country, about 30 min from Lawton. Try not to go to Lawton as much as possible.
Hahahahahaha!!! I used to go down there for soccer games way back when. I go several times a year down by the Wichita Wildlife Refuge, but I haven't stopped in Lawton...other than for gas....in a long ass time..
