My cousin grew some out a while back. I think in the end he chopped at 17-18 weeks. ..... It was a really really nice high. Tasted like old skool, rasta man weed with a bit of sweet citrus.

I wont grow it because of the ridiculously low yield, long flower time and poor bag appeal. ... My people want swollen calyaxes, lime green and super stinky.

Its 'Grinspoon'.

I'm an old timer from the 70's, boy was weed different back then. We smoked Acapulco Gold, Columbian Gold and some good old Red Bud and I do miss the smell and flavor, everything now smells what we called ditch weed back then. Now I'm going to get to the crazy part, I want to grow some of my own weed but I only want to grow one plant at a time and when I smoke, I don't want to get stoned out of my gord. Does anyone have a suggestion for a strain that might take me back to my glory days, I would prefer an auto fem for simplicity. Thanks brothers.
they were still selling 'red hair' a few years ago as seeds, which they were saying was a classic 70s strain more for flavour than getting stoned out yer face. You should also try dutch passions durban poison, which is a sativa and meant to be the purest form of durban poison. I think the purple haze genetics have been watered down nowdays which is a shame, but you can get purple strains still that have mediium thc and are more for favour than others.

In general, if you look on a breeders website, they tell you what the thc content is likely to be. There still are alot of strains out there that produce medium thc and are more for flavour or yeild.

I got some durban poison myself sittin in my drawers, ready to go 12/12 from seed in a few weeks :D If you find any other medium strength classic strains lemme know coz thats what im lookin for my personal smoke too

Nirvanas 'Hawaii Maui Waui'

sagarmatha seeds 'yumboldt'

Dutch passions 'frisian dew', 'durban poison' and 'californian orange'

these are a few that claim to me oldschool strains. I couldnt find the red hair anymore though :/

ahhhhhh srry man i was confused i didnt see you had stated u wanted an auto lol erm, yeah, autos are generally considered to be less potent than their photoperiod counterparts so finding a low thc variety aint gonna be a problem. But as before, nearly all breeders will give a thc rating for the strain, either by showing a % or by simply stating 'medium/high thc'

You could try a lowryder strain but there is simply so many strains out there you could try, and almost all breeders are making their own autos too.

Are you from the states or from UK?

https://www.cannabis-seeds-bank.co.uk/autoflowering-seeds/cat_113.html you could check out some strains on this page, just click on whatever one u fancy and it will give you a description of taste and potency

personally, the lowryder #2 is nice and frosty, its sweet when growing but when i dried mine it smelled like nettles, kinda weird smell, but not really fruity just like a sharp veg smell. I wouldnt grow them again coz there are much fruitier buds around. But it could be a good starting point with autos because they are considered very stable. I smoked an almost pure joint of it and was stoned out of my face for most of the day, it was a bit of a paranoia high but i was so buzzed i just ploughed through the paranoia full of energy. We went to the london dungeons which was really trippy and probably made the high better because the actors attracted all the attention to them. Was good fun

if you follow that link, you can hover over the image of the plant to get a brief overview, but if you click on it it takes you to a more detailed description :) you could even use a 'pick and mix' site and get 1 or 2 beans of a few different varieties. The link i sent you, the company has their own pick and mix feature you could use.

I too, think lowryder#2 would be a excellent choice for you to start out with. It's a huge improvement over the original lowryder, which went nowhere. It's also one of the best and most popular strains they use when developing auto hybrids and there are several good reasons for that. When lowryder#2 first hit the market, they knew they had a winner and it's still a winner today. :leaf:

I can not say about autos but Panama Red from ACE or Cannabiogen was a blast from the past. Colombian red or Yucatan type flavor and high. If I had a uvb bulb to augment that grow it would have made it better I am sure.

I am running Yumbolt now and trying for that 80's Humboldt type buzz.
