One day dry and then jars? A question about low humidity

Hello everyone, the RH where I live is at a constant 20%, way too low for a nice slow dry to occur. I have tried with a few plants now, and even when misting my drying box with water as frequently as every 30 minutes the drying time never took longer than 3 days. The bud is good, but does not taste as good as it could have. I still have one plant left to harvest, and I think I am either going to hang the whole plant with all the leaves and hope for a 5-7 day dry, or could I try drying it for one day, trimming it, and putting it straight into jars? I would definitely make sure to air the jars out a few times a day to prevent mold. is this a good idea?

I hang my buds.. then mason jar them! Works everytime. I take a needle & thread & run it through the stems, poke the needle into my closet, where it is dark, I place a fan in there, "not 2 high" though! And I do this for a day or two, take them down, trim um up, stick them shits into the mason jar/jars, & *don't 4 get 2 burp the lid a few times a day!! Very important.. ;) buds should be good a ready 2 toke on in about a week. I try 2 let mine go a little longer if I can,lol.. ;)

I have the same lack of humidity up here. We rarely make it all the way up to 20% LOL. Anyway I leave mine dry for the day then jar them. I then just open the jars daily. If it was a bit moister I sometimes will leave the jars open overnight. But check them daily.

How are the smell and flavor? As good as drying for 5+ days?

It's the same, no difference but you must be good about opening those jars every day because you can get mildew. Essentially you are drying the outside quickly then slowly equalizing the dryness (moving the dryness inward while moving the moisture outward).

You will want to check 2 or 3 times a day the mold will set in real fast. I have put stuff in jars too soon and had to take it out to dry more on a screen. I have no lack of humidity where I live but in the summer it is a little dryer. good luck

Hanging the whole plant works well in dry areas. This what I do and it will take twice as long to dry and hold the smell and falvor more. I have always trimed the fan leaves, but this time I'm going to leave them. Good Luck

Thanks, I think I am going to do this and put them in jars a little early.

How is the R/H in your flower room? My house is 20-25% but my flower room is 35-40% I have built a little system that pushes the moist air through my dry box then out the chiminey. Works great, went from a 3 day to a 5 day. It comes out perfect.

Hope this gives you some ideas.

Its around 25% even in my flowering room

I don't know why no one has suggested it but try using a humidifier in your drying room/area. It's always dry here so that's what I do. You can also hang dry the entire plant to extend how long it will take. Keep it around 50%and temp under 70. After 6 days drying I bottled them up and my hydrometer said the RH was 70% still. I use RO water in the humidifier just to be safe.

I live in co. 20%rh. I use humidifier and no fan brings it up to 60%. Which I leave for 2or 3 days then lower it to 50% for3 more days

I hung the whole plant and overall kept the humidity around 35% for 3 days. It felt dry on the outside but it was just a very small part of the outer layer. I decided to trim it up and jar it, and I have been dumping all the weed out and stirring them up every few hours too prevent mold. They smell great, hopefully in a week they are smokeable.

GHETTO: In the future try a big bucket of water with an air stone to churn up the water. Place the fan such that the air hits the surface of the water. Or, hang wet towels about and change periodically.
