newbie here, i have 5 plants in the flowering room they have been 12/12 for 11 days, i went to look for white hairs (female) found 4, but 1 had neither hairs or balls?. Found this picture on the internet, mine have this green stuff growing on it, (not the leaves) but the other stuff, what is it? is it something that tells the girls from the boys.
Thanks

those are baby nugs just starting, this is where you'll get your bud from. each one will form a 'cola' or bud mass! leave them alone! and no, you can't tell by looking at those if they are male or female, not yet, anyway. trust me, (I'm also on my first indoor grow) you'll notice the little ball sacs when they appear. I didn't know exactly what to look for either but the sacs are quite noticeable when they do finally show up! it ain't pretty when your males outnumber your females either ( I started with 20 beggie seeds, 15 of them were males!) A-a-argh! hash oil here we come!

oh, males will have what looks like a green pine cone on top of those 'green things' as you so eloquently put it.

Faralos thanks for your info. This is my first flowering so i'm not sure of most things, thats what happens when you turn 57 and start growing something to take the place of alcohol, at least weed won't hurt my liver. Right now there under a 400 watt hps light in the basement flowering box, i have 9 clones in the veg. box . Attached are some pictures
