hi, not done a cfl before but know there is varied results with them, (have seen some nice 1s though!) you dont say how many plants there are? or your enviroment? temps humidity etc, the fact you say 1st succesfull grow is cool as youve obviously ironed out some problems youve had before, like i said theres a lot of people who do cfl and fair play to them, but from what ive personaly seen/held in my hand, hps will give better results especialy to the newer grower, but if you look in the diy section on the forum theres a project called DIY 4oz. minimum yield grow box and theyve got good results with a small cfl set up worth a look, hope it works out for ya just remember its rare to get everything bang right first couple of times
cheers

You basically answered your own question... 1-You need better lights(like MH AND HPS), 2-You need to feed your soil, with all natural, all organic things like alfalfa meal, bone meal, feather meal, worm castings, P-rich bat guano, liquid seaweed, fish emulsion, blackstrap molassas(diluted in water), the occaisional hydrogen peroxide/water aeration, CO2 system, and so on and so forth... You can hardly expect phenominal results from moderate input... You get out what you put in, literally...

first I would do is upgrade the lighting situation to a hps. you can veg and bloom in hps with great results. ditch the over priced advanced nutrients line for something like dyna gro or go organic. with that you should be good to go and get a few ounces per plant

Yup use lots of light and you will be shocked. My next grow I plan to do 100watts per square foot(I'm growing a 90% sativa strain), and I'm expecting monster colas. My 65watts per square foot(that is about standard for most HID growers) gave me some very nice buds though, within 1 week I had popcorn, within 2 weeks I had nice buds, within 3 weeks I had colas.
CO2, lots of light, good high temperatures(to match the CO2 and higher light levels), and proper nutrients.

I don't agree with the others saying you "should" grow organic for yields... that's just not accurate at all. I however plan to switch to Subcool's super-soil recipe for my next grow so that I can go from start to finish only adding water.

Bottom line... (unless your growing outdoors in a good climate) -your going to need to put in a good sized investment if you want a good return

My space is only 4' X 2', and I get 1.5 to 2 lbs per harvest! My peak lumen output on my canopy is approx 131,000 lumens, whch is waaay over what is "normally" recommended. But, I started way lower, obviously, and I found that the more lights I added, and the better I controlled my temps and air flow, and the more systems I integrated, like the CO2 system, the grate and drain-pan with sub. pump and float switch, and proper electrical equipment like enclosed time clocks, and ltg contactors, instead of those cheap-ass little push-in/pull-out kind u find at the dollar store, and all that, I started going from like a cutie pie, on up to a pound and even got 2 on my last one with only 6 massive plants! So, with eleven going at week 4 of flowering now, seven in five gallon buckets, and four in med size pots, I am expecting a bumper crop... It's like a fine-tuned machine now, with the fans just right and everything working in perfect harmony... U can do soooo much, with what seems like so little...

if it's your first successful grow don't worry so much about the harvest. if you could see my first indoor harvest compared to what i pull now you'd shit yourself. the important thing is you learn things with each grow that you can apply to the next grow. if you can be patient and accept disappointments there will eventually come a point where you will be pretty impressed with your skills :hump:

if a better light isn't in the cards right now just focus on overall plant health and making an even canopy. maybe you could play around with how your lights are arranged to boost your buddage. look into training techniques that are geared toward creating an even canopy so you can get more of each plant close to the lights.

if you look around there are some pretty impressive cfl grows going on. i promise you that most of those guys had a good deal of trial and error before they made the magic happen.

good luck. small harvest or big harvest, smoking your own feels badass
