i see you got a 1 in tube, you should def pack it tight, slow compresses.. good luck, take a lot of pictures!

Im definitely going to re run it and pack it real tight.

Ive been looking inti butane.recycling system and i kinda feel doing it any.other way is just wasting gas?

And also letting the trim be soaked in pressurized butane makes all the crystals off opposed to as we.just literally rinse it.

Any thoughts?

I have 3 1.5"x12" glass extraction tubes that I pack to 20g's each. I ran all 3 the other night (60g's total) of some "ok" flower and came out with 15g's of amber glass. I don't reccomened packing the tubes insanely tight because if you trap to much pressure in the tube it will explode (seen a friend do this). If you blast correctly there should be no need for further runs with the same product. This is what I do.

use a electric skillet fill with water outside and set on lowest temp, this heats the water to 110-120, then I float 2 pyrex dishes in the warm water. I take my extraction tubes outside and blast 2 cans through the first tube in one of the dishes then a 3rd can into the second floating dish. Also I will shoot a can until I see tane start hitting the dish then release for a few seconds then shoot then wait, I believe this helps saturate the product in the tube to allow it to get more out (this is strictly personal preference) now the reason for shooting in to separate dishes is to separate the grades, the bowl with the first 2 shots will be stronger than the bowl with the third shot in it, you will notice one lighter in color for sure and the third shot bowl will be a much smaller yield. Now I let the dishes float in the water until tane bubbles stop for the most part. Then I take the dishes and put them in my vac chamber on a skillet set to 150 F surface temp to get the inside of the chamber to 110-120 then put the lid on and let in basically bake in there like a oven until no reaction visible when take lid off, the turn vac on to -30"Hg and let set for 1 hour release vac open lid check temp and put back on pump to -25"Hg for another hour and continue every hour dropping -5"Hg after that let cool and you should come out with something like this. Also I should mention every hour that I remove the vac lid I will, from a distance with very fast brushing motions, pop the smaller bubbles at the surface with a small torch. This helps keep the top of the oil to remain viscose and keep it from becoming a grainy non transparent (honeycomb) look.

did another run and got 40 grams from 430 so 9.3 percent from some allright trim

lets see some pics... 40 grams is a lot, but 9.3 percent is fairly low IMO. all depends on the trim I guess.

14-15 cans

well.. i think you did alright.. you used alright trim (not the best right?), and so out of about 15 and a quarter oz. you got 40 grams of the finest physical matter on the weed plant?

that aint bad, i mean i would not prefer to do these runs(yet is still do every now and then) , but hey, say you had something fresh, and smelled good, 40 grams of that is superb to smoke..

now if it was nasty really really old, and mixed, the choice to BHO it should be heavily thought of before hand

but none the less you did it. compare 2.6 grams of the bho you just made to 1 oz of the trim you just used.. which would you prefer? i'd like to see some pics as well!


i feel no matter what, if you got over 2 grams out of an oz, its not completely wasteful.. but if you got anything lower, screw it!


i would not try to re run this stuff though, onto the next batch!

you just need better material my friend, i feel your results match something that i would get as well..

and ya the quality of trim wasnt all that, it would of taste like poo if i loaded a bowl of it by itself..

but i should be able to get quality trim as im trimming a friends harvest today

sounds like you getting it down

this trim is smokeable now right? dont let a day go by! ok, if you are tired from trimming all night, understandable... BUT, blow that trim asap, and make yourself primo trim!!

nothing without sugar, be picky! no stems, you get the idea..

if your buddy is growing good stuff, i bet you get over 4 grams of excellent bho out of a zip.. keep it fresh!

Ya thanks,.no vacuum purge, i use electric skillet with water and purge slow and long after whipping a bit

And ya i just atarted trimming today so il have something soon

she has arrived! cant wait to build myself a stand for the new tube..


my smaller tube holds about 2 oz comfortably..

Approximate Volume of each:

Small tube: 28.26 Cubic Inches

Large tube: 67.59 cubic inches

so my large tube is about 2.5 times bigger!
3 tubes over 8 tubes to pull a lb. sounds like vacation time! cant wait to try her out!

and i ran 200 grams with my tube and got about 18-19grams

and this was from the trim i made my self all sugar leaf.. it had at least 7-14grams of popcorn buds in there..

im thinking its cause im not grinding it up.. and not enough pressure soaking the trim long enough..

so i got about 9%

anyways, ill be extracting the remaining cannabinoids by making tincture with all my used trim..
cause i feel like im wasting everything i didnt get out of the trim by rinsing?

man, its confusing how you yield so low.. grind it up, but dont powder it.. those extractors look sick, and cheapppppppp

i paid $80 for my tube, $40 for the smaller one.. through in a 1/2 gram of green crack wax as well

get that tube from concetrate industries! i dont know how to use those things, but damn, those look fun..

the rest would not dry out or become touchable, i raised temp to about 190 and its like a hard crystal that really sticky..

This is my process

Usually I wait for the really liquid butane to disperse and the sticky bubbles start then i start whipping and it changes color to a bright yellow, then I let purge until bubble are about 1/4inch size then i whip ONE more time and it turns more yellow,
then I let sit until it drys up into a powder , cooking at a easy 145* for a few hours..

But last night I CHANGED IT UP TRYED SOMETHING DIFFERENT WHICH WAS VERY STUPID

I whipped it like 10 times a piece except the piece thats touchable and really blonde.
I cooked it for like 10 hours at 145..

some thats so dark it looks burned maybe i dont know,
and then another like a caramel color but still sticky as hell
but these types will sometimes shatter like glass when broken.

Im guessing I overwhipped and overcooked?
because when I overwhip the bubbles stop forming and the color is lost.
and when I over heated I melted the trichomes forever
