I grow for my wife, she's the same way. I usually harvest at the first sign of amber on a calyx. In most of my outdoor grows I've had to take them down on the early side because of weather/mold/etc., and she seems to even love earlier-than-optimal harvests.
By the end of every outdoor summer grow I'm looking forward to growing indoors again in the winter, where I can control the temps and humidity and finish completely. And by the end of every indoor grow, after monitoring lights and temps and humidity for a few months, I'm looking forward to going outside again. Each has advantages and disadvantages.
