Guard dogs are so last year.

Nothing is more reliable than a guard tortoise. Stoic, brave, and faithful. The guard tortoise:

not only makes them looks more stronger, it makes them stronger, because of the lower center of gravity.

all three are wonderful choices, but they are all different in there own ways. if you have no dog experiance, i would recomend the rottie. because they tend to be a bit more laid back and calmer.

i have some experience, my dad had a pit when he used to sell, all i have now is itilan grayhound, but the rotti is a mix with a shepherd thats what i mean, but yeah, i just want the best i can get, but wich would be better with a baby, thats the question i really need to ask

any breed could be dangerous.. you just have to raise them right and healthy. i suggest getting a puppy that you can raise around you baby and you can really have the dogs trust from an early age.

I have worked pitbull rescue for over 10 years i kennal and treat over 100 pitbulls every 6 months or so. There is nothing wrong with pitbulls or any dog for that matter its ignorant owners who go buy a dog and teach it to hang on spring poles cause they think its cool when pits lock down. That teaches your dog that when ever it bites on something that pulls back to bite harder and pull back. So when your dumb buddy goes out there and get bit and trys to pull away the dog thinks its doing what its been trained to do. Then when he hits it to get it off it makes it mad and then they begin to try and kill whatever it is thats infront of them at the time. Pitbulls go their name from the pits that they use to be thrown into around the late 1600's to fight. They where bread to be aggresive by nature to hunt bears, wild bore, and coyotes. But over the last 100 or so years breeders(the legal kind) have been using selective breeding to try and change the breeds mentality and still if you go to a true breeder not your buddies friend. They still use kennles with fight proof barriers to prevent fighting thru the cages. If you have never owned a pitbull and do not plan on buying from a real breeder i would not recomend it. You know nothing about the pedigree nor how those people treat their dogs while people arent around. The very best "gaurd dog" you can buy is a char pei they have been trained since the third dynasty china to be gaurd dogs and the romans used them for war dog because of their excess skin that helped deffend against arrows and such. But like i said befor if its in the woods from a pup and brought out as an adult you will not be able to have that dog around anyone but you regaurdless of breed. Dog socialization is one of the main determining factors in wether your dog will be mean or not.
