Sad memory, every time I here of a chow I remember back when I was a very young kid. My Parents had friends that had 2 chow chows that stayed in the back yard. They dug under the fence into the neighbors yard and killed a 3 yr old little girl.
Never trusted them since, though I'm sure these dogs had no training and no life outside that yard.

So funny that pitbulls get the bad rap when just about everyone I know has a chow chow story. I feel like the old white lady grabbing her purse when the black dude walks by. When I see one in a yard I'm taking my kids across the street.

That's ok, sometimes I'm the only one in the room who gets my jokes. Last night I said something that made me laugh So hard and for so long I woke the kids up. My wife just stared at me for the entire 10 minute spectacle.

I've been around two in my lifetime. One my cousin gave us when I was in my early 20's. My aunt lived with Mamma and Daddy. She was handicapped with a speech problem and walked with a real unsteady gait. She loved walking the dirt roads picking up cans. That dog would go with her and we never worried. One time the preacher went to hug her, and the dog took him by the pants leg and pulled him back. That dog would also follow Daddy all day long in his rounds on the farm. But he wasn't a pet. He was almost 3 years old before anyone laid a hand on him.
The other one was a stray who came to live with us when we were still in town. She scared folks, but never bit anyone. She was a pet.

Yeah, it's a sad story when shit like that happens. Honestly most of it is owner/handler error. The thing about pits or chows is that they are purpose bred. If they are not in a home with a calm assertive alpha then they run amuck and because of the purpose they are bred for they become like a loaded gun. I think owning any dog is a responsibility most people aren't adequately equipped to deal with but when you put a dog like that in the mix it goes from benign to dangerous very quickly. I hate BSL and am against permits to own certain breeds but I honk any prospective dog owner should have to be permitted after demonstrating they are up to the task, beyond the implications to people around the animal, the life of the animal can be affected very negatively.

She wouldn't even put that much into it anymore. Lol. Maybe 9 years ago. Now it's just a regular occurrence that mildly inconveniences her day. Kind of like getting stuck behind a tractor in the way to work.

Nice looking garden. There's so many damn strains these days that i read people's grow threads and think "i haven't heard of almost any of this stuff." The Skywalker i actually have heard of.
Why do you say you'll definitely need a new cover for the 13x33 next year? Ours is holding up perfectly.. I saw lots of bad reviews about the covers for these, but they all seemed to have high winds in common.

That was based on the bad reviews and the 12x7 that was bought last year was flaking really bad this year. It looks great still I guess we'll see. I also would like to look into solex to give it some insulation and try and run it all winter. We'll see.

Obviously, I was playing off the fact that showing an Asian guy as the Pokemon go coach is kind of racist. And I don't even Pokemon, this is relayed to me by the 17 year old dishwashers who work for me. I played Pokemon before it was like this, game boy in my back pocket. Every moment that's not in the garden or at work I spend with my kids and they're a little too young for Pokemon go. I downloaded it but I could only catch one Pokemon while on my toilet and that was about all the extra time I had for it.
