Organic Opinions

Sup fellow Fellow growers! Was interested in hearing your opinions, personal experiences and results from any type of organics nutrient lines. I'm setting my own grow soon and looking for any advice on which organic lines to go with thinking about doing a 400watt or 600 watt aircooled grow. Currently bought sunshine advanced rainforest mix and plan on doing a scrog. Any help would be appreciated. One love! Feel free to post pics of your own results or anything beneficial to this post.

The best organic "line" I've tried is from Down to Earth. Kelp meal, neem meal, crab meal, fish bone meal, all kinds of good stuff.

MIX IT IN YOUR SOIL, and you won't need to bottle feed your plants.

Sweet thanks man! I appreciate the feedback. I will definitely try and pick some up if they have it at my shop. So just pre mix into the base soil and let the nutrients slowly release and feed the plant. Just add water right?

Also any feedback in the sunshine advanced rainforest mix would be cool too. Heard this was not too bad and it was in sale for 10 bucks per 1.5 cubic ft

Your cheapest route would be to buy a Peat moss, perlite, and the soil amendments Spicy recommended. Mix em up. Let em sit for a month or two and plant. Also, look into Aerated Compost Teas and nutrient teas. I prefer planting in a lightly amended soil and supplementing with teas as some strains will burn up in heavily amended soils. Super Soil Recipes are worth reading about too. It all just depends on what works for you. It'll take some time to figure out. neem and crab meal are usually hard to find in store but are great amendments to keep soil pests at bay

I've never used sunshine mix's but I'm sure it will be decent. Most mix's that are sold wont be enough to keep your plant happy and healthy throughout thief life cycle with just watering and usually require feeding

^^^ pre mixed bags of soil that are waste of money and have very little nutrient value. When you can mix your own and make 5 times as much for the same price.

he meant the hydro shop mentality. Where they sell you stuff you don't need and / or doesn't do anything. ie snake oils

Everyone has to start somewhere. I personally started with Roots Organics 707 blend. I just recently started amending my own soils. Which I do lightly, and supplement with teas and a base line of nutrients that I use maybe 4 or 5 times in an entire grow. It guarantees you'll end up with something worth while at the end. I do this until I can get better at making my own soil mixes that I test out on a small portion of my plants. My last mix i made burnt the shit out of my atomic northern lights and I was thankfull I put most of my Purple Aliens in a lighter mix.

Most of my previous growing experience was with veggies that I would amend soils for. But, veggies can take much hotter soil that cannabis. Something I learned the hard way.

IDK, nobody ever held a gun to my head and forced me to buy anything whenever I went to a "hydro" or grow store. Consumer ignorance can lead to issues in a variety of situations.

There are still different ways to grow and everybody has a different set of circumstances to grow in. Not to mention, the same companies that manufacture/package or distribute premixed gardening products are also packaging/distributing raw ingredients and amendments.

Premier Tech packages Premier Peat Moss, various Pro-Mix peat and coir products. Sun Gro Horticulture makes Sunshine Mix, Sunshine Advanced, and Black Gold potting soil/mixes and soil amendments/conditioners/fertilizers. Even Fox Farm Soil and Fertilizer Company packages/distributes amendments and dry all natural fertilizer mixes, and potting soils; aside from manufacturing hydro/chemical products... and BWGS(Bloomingdale Wholesale Garden Supply) distributes everything under the sun. Not just to hydro/grow stores that sell to pot growers, but also to greenhouses, nurseries and garden supply centers.

Yea im thinking about doing the scrog in a space the about 3 feet wide 5 feet tall and 10 feet deep with a 600 watt air cooled light with a digital ballast. Im currently trying to order the 600watt light, 440 CFM inline fan, the ducting, a fan controller, and mylar. Is this a good supply list? I think its a good setup. let me know what u guys think before I order it. For nutes I might order the tga prebagged supersoil or the bio canna vega/flores/boost. Anyone have any experience with either of these?

5ft tall? That doesn't leave much space for your verticle growth. The hood will be roughly a foot deep and you are supposed to keep the 600w about 18" off the tops of your plants. I would suggest a dimming 600w just in case you run into height/heat issues. Also, a 600w's optimal footprint is 3'x3'.. I use BioCanna Nutrients. Good nutes. I would recommend brewing them for 12hrs before use. You don't have to, but brewing them has let me use less nutes and save money. You will need a calmag supplement to use with it. And a bloom booster. I use Big Swell.

I have a twitter account that you can see some of my finished buds grown with BioCanna. I just started using Rollitup so I don't have a lot posted on here. www.twitter.com/deflectohead I've been using BioCanna for a couple years now. I recently started making compost teas and lightly amending my soil so I usually don't even feed my plants until they are a couple weeks into flower. And I usually only feed half strength with BioCanna every 10 days or so, depending on the strain.
