Ohsogreen I took a trip to FL to see family. I gave my brother a bottle of SPT and some of those magic beans. He had a few Chronics (serious seeds) going, that were acting weird. Two applications of SPT straightened them out in just two days. I came home with beans and clones. I'll be in touch. This cat is now sporting a serious tan :)

Catincombs.... Good to hear from you. I was wondering why I hadn't seen you on in a while.
.
My girls are all doing real good, I've got branches breaking from the weight. Lost only one, from weather damage, all others are alive & well.
.
I heard from Cap (tHBM), he will by our way, next week. I'll drop you an email. Let's take out my pontoon boat and do some fishing.

Glad to see thread is still thriving, not unlike my girls... Have loved SPT (though roots were busting out my buckets mere days after transplant!) and Grow it Green, am now on my 2nd application of Flower Power and have been impressed with the results of all the BMO products thus far. A thank you for the heads up on some good people selling good products. +rep for OhSo

hey all. iv added the first application of full strength SPT to my girls (30 ml per gallon) and i gave them a half gallon each, including the brand new clones i just bought from a medical marijuana facility. some of the clones arent doing too good, but they were shitty before i got them, so its not on me. anyways, i have an under sink Reverse Osmosis water system, and i was wondering if that will filter out chlorine or not. to be honest, i really didnt notice that big of a difference in the plants after i added that stuff. maybe my filter isnt getting that chlorine out? also, the bottle of stuff is cheap, but i used atleast half of it on my 12 girls....and if im supposed to use it every two weeks, then i dont really think it is all THAT cheap...but i dont mind paying good money for things that work.

Hey Bagel, If you don't think you're getting rid of the chlorine you can always aerate the water for 24-36 hours after RO, added benefit of oxygenating the water too... :-D

yep let it sit for 24 hours chlorine will be all gone
Or if you are impatient, get a dechlorinater from a pet store, I use Stress Coat, and its very affective and rather inexpensive

Bagelthief.... Chlorinated water with SPT, renders it just a very weak fertilizer. It's very important to use chlorine free water, or you will not see any real results. R/O setups don't necessary remove all chlorine, some don't remove any. The super expensive ones do, the less expensive ones don't.
.
Try this, buy three gallons of bottled, chlorine free water - add three tablespoons of sugar and three ounces of SPT. Stir daily or pour from bucket to bucket for two days; or oxygenate it with a cheap aquarium air pump / stone for a day. Then give each plant one quart, do not water or fertilize them for three days. Then resume your normal routine. Use only chlorine free water.
.
Then see how you like it. I bet your opinion will change.
.
I would fill a bucket with your R/O water, and let it sit for a few days to let the chlorine evaporate before use. In Organic growing, chlorinated water is a KILLER of micro-beasties (good bacteria & fungi), which are essential for proper growth. Without the micro-beasties, your plants will not reach their maximum potential.
.
Hope this helps....

Then it was still bad so I checked the ph of my water and it was 8.0 out of the tap then I added the SPT and it droped it below 4.0 is this normal, Did my bottle go bad Please help or I will have to quit useing it but it was so great at first.

dont worry bro. this happened to me too. its normal. just add some PH up to your water after you add the SPT.

Bigtymer930.... Don't worry about the pH shift. Thats normal, it levels out in a few hours. If you mix up SPT and use it immediately afterwards, it does not harm your plants. When it hits the soil, the soil acts like a buffer, between it and your plants roots. If you hydro, a pH of 5.3 to 6 is what you want. Again, their will be a pH shift, but it's only temporary. It levels out within one hour in hydro.
.
A pH of 8 is too alkaline for your water, it will damage your plants, your pH needs to be quite a bit lower.
.
If you are not taking steps to remove the chlorine from that water, the chlorine will damge your plants, plus it kills the micro-beasties in the SPT. This prevents it from doing the very thing, it's meant to do. Add micro-life to the rootzone. You need some water that is not so harsh, lower pH & no chlorine. If you are growing in soil, I would flush my pots using bottled water, wait a day, then check the pH of the soil. If you are hydor growing, dump your res and reload, with unchlorinated water.
.
You can adjust the pH of your SPT mix or just let it level out on it's on, either way works.
.
Hope this helps...

Hey Bagalthief

if you have a R.O. setup, you do not want any chlorine getting to the R.O. membrane, that is what the two pre-filters are for, to remove all the chlorine and large sediment.

the first filter removes sediment, the second chlorine + sediment, the third everything that is left.

you need to check your chlorine level after the second filter, the last filter before the
R.O. membrane. check home depot, pool store, fish store or google for a simple chlorine test kit. if you live in a big city you probably have chloramine instead of chlorine, if so you have to get the right pre-filters and test kit. chloramine is harder to kill than chlorine, it does not go away just letting it set for a day or two, you have to get choramine remover from your local fish store.........READ tha LABEL......

also, if chlorine or chloramine did get to the R.O. membrane it's time for a new one........

check this link Filter Packages
about halfway down you will see the ULTRA CHLORAMINE PACKAGE
this is a good site to get educated on R.O. systems, and they have fair prices

hope this helps

hey thanks RD. i think i will call my water company and see which one they use. you seem to know alot about RO systems...i have a quick question, hope you dont mind.

iv heard people say that if you use RO water, your plants will be deficient in a few minerals. i can only remember one, i think it was calcium? i know there were a few others too. someone said you have to add something called CalMg to the water. is this true? i think i might have a magnessium deficiency, becuase all of my plants have very dark purple stems. however, i think this person said that CalMg is non-organic, and that is a no-no for half of my plants. whats your input on the subject?

+rep for the help bro.
