tryn to come up with good soil rec. here's what i got so far. 1 bale promix, 8 cups bone meal(phos), 4 cups blood meal(nit), 1 1/2 cups epsom salts(magnes), 3 cups dolomite lime(ph buffer), 4 cups kelp meal(trace minerals), 25 lb bag of pure worm castings(micronutes), mix, sit 1-2 weeks. bat guano 2nd week into flowering. okay, got this rec. off internet, recipie didn't mention anyhing about additional ferts during veg or flower, just says to add bat guano 2nd week of flowering. anyone rcommend additional nutes? and as far as guano, just sprinkle over top of soil during flower? gett'in closer:)

maybe a little extra perlite.the guano comes in differnt NPK ratios.make sure it is the high phos bat guano and not the nitrogen bat guano .

i can gei promix with perlite already in it to prevent soil compaction. mostly wondering if anyone recommends anything else during any phase of growth. is just bat guano enough to get decent bud? should i have bat guano in the whole time, or just sprinkle it over top of soil during flower?

mead it into the top soil during flowing.
i get a bat guano that is rather cheap and has micorize in it also.hi phos.
the high nitrogen or mexican bat guano is for vegging.
many soils still do not have enough soil drainage .hence the suggestion of sand or a little more perlite.
but its cool.some think it is best to have a perlite mix of around 25 to 30 percent perlite.
i use around 35 to 40 percent perlite.the extra loose soil makes your roots move out alot faster.hence bigger plants and larger yields.your soil will dry out a little faster though .i dont mind dry soil is a plus so long as it isnt to dry.you just have to water a little more frequently.like every third or fourth day

i've always mixed my own soil, so i dont really know what promix is. but pretty much any potting soil should have vermiculite in it, but ganja likes losser soil than most plants so it would still be a good idea to add a little bit anyways. and as far as the bat guano, it really depends on what kind your using. some bat guano is higher in N and some is higher in P. you'll want more N during veg growth and more P during flowering. you can sprinkle some on top of your soil, but it would probably be better to make a tea out of it and water that into your plants.

thanx for suggestions. was going to set up hydro but why spend extra money on h-system when i can grow just as good naturally. most say better taste as well.

i am trying out soils right now and I thik that the more perlite the better, almost. Like add another 10-20 percent above what all your soils already have. The more air and watering the better. I come from hydro and root porn rocks!

i hear ya. i'll definitely add plenty of perlite. max420thc recommended up to 40%. should be plenty. checked out someones grow journal on diff site, and this guy had just 30% worm castings, 30% verm., 20% perlite, 20% peat moss, adding bloom boost during flower and got some really nice bud out of it. i believe he said they were k-2 strain.
