the latest i transplant is @ very first signs of budding, less than 7 days into flower. What about just cutting the bottom of the pot off or adding bigger holes and setting it on/in more soil? That way the only affect is having more room for the roots to grow, no risk of shock. (?)

Keep reading flush..I have read Teaming With Microbes..flushing seems to have no basis and no real possibility of doing anything but over saturating the medium and over watering the plant. Thoughts?

No. You're still diverting energy that should go into producing flowers, to grow more roots.
