OR's 2nd Grow

Hello and welcome to my second grow! I've upgraded a bit and learned a lot from my first grow so I'm excited for this one!

Last time I put seeds straight into a 5 gallon bucket of soil. This time around I'm starting small in some 12oz cups and will be transplanting. This will allow me to more easily control the soil conditions. You can't see in the pictures here, but I placed some spritzed ziploc bags over each cup to help with humidity levels.

*Current humidity level outside the bags is 41%.... I have the humidifier on full blast so I'm not sure what else to do.
*Current temps stay at 75F during lights on. The heater turns off with the lights.
*Light schedule for now is 18/6. The timer is set to have the lights and heater off during the day and on at night to help with temps.

They're all growing really fast but they don't look the healthiest. I need to pick up some calmag this weekend.

Transplanted this week and discovered root bound plants :( They are happy and growing fast after repotting. The Critical Kush has some weird genetics, but regular growth seems to be poking through. The Expert Glue looks good but got passed by the 2 Critical Lights.

Bigger every day but I'm still struggling to keep temps up. I'll have to repot again soon. I know they're looking a bit sad but there's not too much I can do.

The 2nd and 3rd picture are side and top views of the biggest Critical Lights plant.

2ND REPOT

They all seemed root bound but now have a full 5 gallons to grow... except little Critical Kush. I also added a oscillating fan. First 2 root pictures are the CL followed by EG and finally CK.

LOW STRESS TRAINING

I did some topping about a week ago but today is the first day of LST. I also did some super cropping on the tallest one and accidentally broke a stalk so hopefully that heals.

So I think I have a calmag issue which seems to have stunted growth. The snapped supercrop ended up looking like it would die so i chose to remove it.

Wow, what a crazy 12 months. Historic storms here in Oregon knocked out power to hundreds of thousands of people. I personally experienced 85+ hours without power and I felt so bad for my girls! Temperatures dropped and humidity soared so i was really worried.. They seem okay, though, as they've grown quite a bit in the last week. I plan to defoliate and lollipop this week before installing the netting next week.

Decided to try trellis netting this time around. The plants are barely poking through so maybe I'll veg longer than 2 months? Not sure yet, but I do know I'll be adding a second layer later on. I also removed the Expert Gorilla as it was lagging behind the two Critical Lights and there honestly wasn't enough room. I can bush out the Critical Lights and fill the tent, I think.

MORE DEFOLIATION

I'm probably going overboard with the defoliation... but here we are. I'm trying to spread the canopy as much as possible before I flip to 12/12 this Thursday, which marks the end of veg month 2.

Also, I have no idea wtf I'm doing with those kales.

When I look back at my first grow and compare it to this grow.... man I still have so much to learn!

I installed the 2nd layer of trellis and tucked as much as possible before flipping these girls to 12/12 after lights off tonight. Things are looking great. Each plant is approximately 2ft in diameter.

Thoughts on yield? I'm hoping for 1/4 pound.

She's still going! The canopy has almost reached the 2nd layer of trellis which is approximately 6-8 inches above the first. The plant on the left is looking a bit thin compared to the right even though they're the same strain. The only thing I can think of is the heater is closer to the right plant.. but I have 2 fans moving the air around so I'm not sure. They've also been looking a bit sad so I'm starting to up the nutrient feeding. I was originally following the general feeding guideline but ill be doing heavy feeding until I notice burn.

My poor girls seem stunted :( I haven't changed anything so not sure what it could be. One seems like an indica with fat leaves while the other is skinny... but they're the same strain. I honestly don't have time to really deal with anything anyway.

Oh well, it is what it is.

Prominent colas are starting to poke through. Bud sites are really starting to fill in. This is the fun part :)

It's incredible the difference in structure between the two plants. They're under different lights @ different wattages so it makes sense but I didn't realize how drastic it would be. Surprisingly the brighter light appears, at least for now, to be developing thinner buds. We will see.

Things seem to be going okay. The disparity in phenos is driving me nuts! One has beautiful buds under a spider farmer sf1000..... and very airy buds under a viparspectra xs1500 which is 50w more than the spider farmer. Either way the tent smells great and I'm excited for the light at the end of the tunnel.

Getting so close!! I gave her her last feeding yesterday before using straight water for these last few weeks. They're both looking and smelling really good! The one on the right that had the fluffier buds seems to be filling in nicely. I'm so excited!!!

They're really starting to swell! The one on the right that originally had the fluffy buds is foxtailing hard.

Not much to report. Fattening and starting to change colors.

Today marks 4 days past the breeder flower time. I think I have another week at least. Thoughts?
