Our Jack Herer SCROG Grow

OK, my wife and I are doing a Jack Herer SCROG grow from feminized seeds. We both recently retired, so we have lots of time to grow our favorite herb and make wine.

We love this strain because (we're all adults here) it takes sex for us to a new level that can't be explained in words. It's quite amazing.

I know SCROG grows work best when starting from clones instead of seeds, but I don't have a mother plant. At least not yet.

Seeds: Jack Herer feminized seeds from Sannie's Shop in France (delivered to my house in the USA in only ONE WEEK after Sannie's received my payment).

Grow Medium: ProMix HP. I added 2 tablespoons of dolomite lime per gallon of ProMix.

Grow containers
: 5-gallon Smart Pots.

Nutrients
: General Hydroponics 3-part (Micro, Grow, Bloom) mixed exactly as the bottles say. I use only tap water, and I do NOT balance PH. All my grows turn out fine this way. But I draw the tap water into 5-gallon buckets 24 hours before use, so as to allow the chlorine to evaporate.

Grow room:

Right now, I have them in a 32" x 32" x 60" grow tent under a California Lightworks 200-watt VegMaster LED. Once they grow to just below the SCROG screen, I'll move them into a 3.5' x 3.5' x 8' grow closet under the same LED light to finish vegging. When it's time to flower, I'll use a 600-watt Hortilux HPS bulb in a Luxor vertical-bulb fixture with 8" flanges. I use a Lumatek switchable and dimmable ballast. And a 636 CFM Elicent inline fan to both cool the light and vent the room.

My SCROG screen will be 28" x 28", and will be 14" above the tops of the Smart Pots.

All 5 of my seeds germinated just fine using the "soaking in water" and then "paper towel" method. I raised them in 18-ounce Dixie cups, and transplanted them into 5-gallon Smart Pots last week.

The following pics show my month-old plants. I will choose the best 3 when they reach the screen, and I'll plant the other 2 outside when it gets warm enough.

Looks like an awesome set up! With a basically 2x2 screen it may be more beneficial to run one plant (maybe 2). I've seen increased yields with less plants in scrog grows. I usually give each plant its own 1.5'x1.5' screen to grow in to. Just a suggestion :D

I'm in an led scrog right now flowering With two plants in a 1.5x2.2 screen haha. If I were to have been pulling it under more in the stretch of flower it would of easily filled all the screen. Enjoy scoping out other scrog journals while growing yours to keep a solid eye for the perfect timing and shape . Can't wait to see this grow on!
