Outdoor growing advice....

Hi I live the bay area in Northern California. My question is that I'm vegging in 16 oz cups and will transplant to 20 gal pots. How much gallons of water do I need to give my plants for them to absorb the nutrients in a 20 gal pot? Do I need to water everyday outdoor, if no when? When is the best time to plant outdoor is it really 4/20? How much weight can you pull from using a 20 gal pot per plant? Thank you all for your help and expertise. Also, the strains I'm growing outdoor are: Afghan Kush X White Widow, Chemband, Sour Diesel, Ken's GDP, Blue Dream, Girl Scout Cookies, Strawberry Cough and Bubba Kush.

Depending how absorbent your soil is, and how dry it is when you water, you may need to put 1/2 the pot volume of water before you get any runoff.
Some guys just water a measured amount, others like me, like to get some runoff every water.

the ideal way to water would be to wait until it actually wilts then water for 15 mins- 45 mins or an hour as it gets bigger but it wouldn't need water everyday but you are going for yield with 20 gallon pots . you could mix coco or peat then wouldnt have to water as often, but how many gallons each watering is basically it can use more water as it gets bigger and if you water at the hottest part of the day. I would reccomend don't just water and walk away but water with a half gallon for small plants than come back in 15 minutes and water it again. If it's a cloudy day, maybe dont water just spray the leaves with water.
