Outdoor-Indoor-Outdoor?

Hi folks, long time lurker first time poster.

Has anyone had success with vegging plants outdoors, moving them indoors under 12/12 light until the daylight diminishes to less than 14 hrs outside, then finishing the flowering outside?

I’m at 52°N and I’ve got 3 afghani female photos in 7 gal smart pots vegging beautifully right now. I’ve got my indoor setup vacant at the moment and was planning to move the ladies in there for the duration of their flowering cycle next week. But if I can get away with triggering flowering indoors then moving the plants back outside that would save me a month of running lights and fans as well as give me a better yield overall. I’d really like to finish some photos under the sun in my northern climate for once.

That is basically a form of light deprivation. I like to veg. plants till about June 1st inside nice and comfortable then harden off after that and do a summer light deprivation from just before the solstice for outside 12 hrs direct sunlight 7a.m. to 7 p.m. then carried back to dark room for dark 12. Usually they finish around 1st of Aug. It's always way more sticky then my October Buds.. And Potent :weed:

I veg all summer outdoors in Interior Alaska. Move them inside to flower because by the time the light hours are 13 it’s likely to freeze and freeze hard. I just finish them indoors.

I only bring cuttings into my grow closet from outdoors. But even then they get inspected meticulously before they are taken. I have covered a 10x10 canopy with black plastic sheeting to 12/12 a summer crop. I took it off after dark tho because of the moisture and air circulation. Had a big ass oscillating fan running on high the entire time while covered.

Thanks for the feedback.

Regarding pests, I’m planning on using a technique I use when bringing a couple large hisbiscus in for the winter each year. I take a large clear garbage bag and cover the entire plant and pot. Then I take a full can of Raid home and garden pump the bag full of poison. I let it sit for a couple hours and it’s always done the trick.

On ornamentals spraying your “poison” is inc9nsequential.

Please don’t smoke/ingest raid weed

You guys think spraying a plant with raid in veg is going to effect the flower? I was thinking since I won’t be ingesting anything that the raid touches it should be fine.

I’ll give them a spray of need oil instead, just to be on the safe side.

Plants drink through there leaves. Don't spray Raid on them
