i was walking home stoned and i looked at a streetlight which have hps bulbs here, i had an idea then...

could one theoretically grow outdoors with 1000w hps bulb hung high above the plant, heat wouldnt be a problem, but one would probably have to build a "streetlight" to make everything waterproof...

growing under the rays of the sun and a 1000w hps, could maybe create huge fdd like bushes with dense indoor like bud, maybe...

this is as good as impossible to do in a illegal invroment, but as a medical grower or somehow legal maybe it is.

has anyone ever tried this, or do you think this makes sense, or am i just rambling stoned bullshit???? :bigjoint:

The sun is trillions of times more intense then a 1000watt hung 10 feet above a plant. Total waste of brain cells on this idea.

Greenhouse growers will add HPS light to their plants for a wider spectrum but I don't know about everything being completely outdoors?

My plants spend the night under a 400W HPS and the day under the sun. During budding under 6 hours sun, 6 hours HPS. I haven't completed this indoor outdoor crop yet, but in less than a month!

I think the sun would drown out any light from the HPS. So it would probably just be a waste of electricity.

yeah basically, the sun is many many many times more powerful, and has all the appropriate spectrums.

basically no point in doing this.

but the sun i not consistent, some day it rains, some days its cloudy. my idea was lights on from sunrise to sun set.

and the ones saying a 1000w isnt powerful enough... its same powerful as indoors + the added spectrums from the sun.

i would just say, let nature do its job. Sure it might be cloudy out some days, but nothing can beat real sunlight.

He also stated that he ment to mounting it like a streetlight. But, high like a fake sun. Way too much distance.

Ive seen hps lights in green houses but they only use them when the days are short, It will be a wast of energy in your case.
