lol no it just happened that way. I think I raised the lights to much during vegetation. Dont quite know but I am journaling all of this and plan to post it. I tell you it has become a sweeet sweet joy and theraputic discovery to grow these plants. I hope to continue do this as merely a hobby and head stash. I am not in this for money but for the pure joy of growing.

I also have 5 artichoke plants that are growing some wild "outdorr" chokes ......lol so anyways yeah I just love spending time and learning, and enjoying this grow.

Nice one! I have some tomatoes, lettuce, peppers, cucumbers and herbs growing out this conservatory at the back of the house as well. Definitely something relaxing about the whole seed to fruit journey, gives you a better perspective on time too. Oh yeah, I have a four year old son too and it's cool watching him grow as well.

I'd love to stay chatting but I've this exam tomorrow about biochemistry so I've got to study. I'll say good night for now and will follow up this thread when I return. Thanks for tips and please post on pictures of you're pruned ladies. I've got some work to do tomorrow, bought wood to make a box for mother plant and have to kit that out with lights. And I still have to attach carbon filter, I've a post on that as well. If you've any suggestions maybe you could let us know.

Looking good friend-very healthy and I see nice big colas developing there. And they're squeezed in pretty tightly, looks like it's doing them no harm. Hopefully tomorrow I should have things changed around and I'll let you see the progress. Take care, the ginger man.

Have a look at my gallery it has my Grapefruits in it , they were feminized seeds and im going to get some more , ive got 3 growing now 3 weeks veg and theyre starting the forth week flower , they smell so good very sweet and i love the high from them . They will grow tall and i harvested a pound off of 4 plants at about 9 weeks (2 400w hps) . Train your branches to utilize the light you have .

Hey Joe, they look good. How tall do you reckon they'll get? I gave one of mine away yesterday and I'm going to keep one as a mother plant so then I'll have two in my closet under 400 hps and hopefully I can get a good yield. 4 ounces a plant is good going!

No, haven''t pruned anything yet. Should I do it as in your photos? What leaves/stems should I prune and how will it increase yield? What kind of a plant am I aiming for? I heard somewhere that a plant needs all its leaves-does pruning the lower leaves increase yield? Would love to hear you suggestions on maximising bud growth.

Just finished my box for my mother plant tonight, 3 foot tall and two foot wide. Am pretty pleased with the result, I'll be able to have a little shelf in there to for clones. Tomorrow I'll hook up a 200 watt CFL blue 'nurturelite' and then I'll have two flowering plants to work with in my closet. Will send on photos when completed. Any tips on how best to keep a mama plant?

I read that you can prune below the first 4 -5 inches from the soil up. I did it because I needed more light and air flow. Some say not to prune. What I am doing is pruning some and topping some and doing a photo journal for the whole grow tolearn what works, how it works ,and what doesnt work. I am having a blast. Hope that helps.

Anyways I pruned and the babies acted like nothing and continued to gro, just not down there.

The room my plants are to be flowering in is the exact same dimensions, they can only grow to about 3 feet tall though. It should fit 3 for flowering.. maybe put up a mesh to make a bonzi plant.
that may also work well for your room, that way you get a kinda carpet of top buds

The point with the mesh being only the buds will grow through them and they get support? Sounds like a good idea. At what height should I place the mesh? Thanks for the advice.

I did some pruning yesterday pj. I cut off all the long, stringy branches single leaf branches with no offshoots on them from all over the plants. I figured those branches weren't going to produce anything and they were only blocking out the lower new growth and using energy.

I also removed any dead or dying leaves and the plants look much better now. They have a nice sort of fat carrot shape to them now and look healthier overall. I flushed them out too after five weeks and sprayed the leaves with
mist just to freshen them up.

Is it possible to let plants veg for too long, missing the right time for flowering? I was kind of worried about that because I wanted to switch my plants over to flowering this week but have to wait a while longer until my mother plant box is hooked up and ready to roll.

good to hear your babies are doing good. I also topped a few of mine to see what the result would be and then I can document it in my journal. Good luck my friend
