Over dried? Now what?

So I just finished drying my flower in my grow tent for 1 week after trimming off the biggest fan leaves.
Drying setup: AC infinity fan was set to turn on at 40% RH and go fast at 50% RH...I assume RH was 40% most of the time. My tent circulation fan was at medium inside the 2x4 tent.

How dry: Big stems didn't snap, and small stems snap but don't snap in two.

Now I trimmed up my buds and jarred them and my hyrgrometers read ~37%RH in the jars after 1 day. I assume this means my buds are too dry. So what do I do from here? Do I put in a hydration pack (Boveda packs) or am I screwed?

I'm willing to put in the time but I'm not sure how to resolve it if I even can.

Open your jars and put them in the bathroom, while you run the shower on HOT for 20 minutes, then seal the jars, and check the rh 24 hrs later.

Hygrometer s are not all 100% accurate. If stems not snapping it’s unlikely to be at 37%
How do the buds feel ? They smell ok ? Boveda packs are for long term storage not for the initial cure. Like you say if stems are bending then it’s not gonna over dried. I would say your humidity whilst drying is on the low side. Just burp jars every few days dude should be fine, and keep eye out on the bigger buds jars for moisture build up

So i did this, they read ~70% afyer the shower and then after 6hr were down into the 40% range.

It seems higher RH so just keep doing it?

My stems sound like a similar state to yours, it's dry with a little pliability in the bud, I jarred it earlier at room temperature it's 63.38%.
Is your bud crumbling to if you squeeze it or is it firm/springy?

So I'm not sure what is supposed to feel like at 62%. I did the damp towel in the jar for 12 hrs (not touching any buds) and now the buds feel springy and it stays well above 50%rh. When I poke the buds in the jar I don't hear crunching noises now either

Jars i didn't do that to are the same as before and make crunching noises when I poke the buds.

I was able to trim the buds by rubbing the trim off mostly since it was so crumbly if that means anything.

Fresh marijuana leaves if you have any plants going...insert as you would a boveda pack...use as many as you think necessary per jar.
Remove when moisture transfers.
Good luck.

smart one right there ff and next time he will dry them properly

yeah if its crumbly thats not good but its still smokeable how much are we talking? an ounce? a pound?

I’ve over dried weed before and I was surprised to find out it still gets better with time.

I was led to believe dropping below 55% will stop curing. Not true in my experience

So how do I know if this is working?
At the moment, since I have put the damp cloth in each jar by now, all the buds have some give to them.
I burb the jars 1x / day and they tend to sit at ~60%RH. They smell weird. Not ammonia (as in molding) but not like my old dealers house smelled either.
Is it the smell becoming more weedlike that is the sign that the cure is done? Or do you just do it for 4 weeks+ and that's that?

It's a 1/2 lb with more popcorn nug than I'm happy about (my first grow...excluding a previous horrible one).
I thought I was drying it properly as per the stuff I read, slight breeze inside, 45-55% RH, 60F for 7-14 days.

Also I'm using old pickle jars for my jars. They are water proof at least when sealed. Is that reasonable or do I need fancy jars?

Lastly, do people cure trim?
I have piles of weed butter so I figured I would just cure it and smoke it.
I feel like it packs in a little too tightly :( Popcorn nugs are more densely packed too than my nice big buds since they are smaller. They seem fine but the trim is way dense.

There has been time back in the early days where humidity in my growing space was really low, the buds dried very quickly and the stems still didn’t snap, it was almost like the buds dried out before the stems which could explain what’s happened to you. If buds crumble to dust type then it’s defo over dried. No amount of moisture added will continue the cure unfortunately because as soon as you open the jar it will dissipate and your left with over dried bud still.

any jar that seals is fine and as far as curing trim no i wouldnt suggest that maybe make cannabutter
