Check this out, I've heard that colder temps can cause pistils to turn purple. It's only happening on one of my plants but I think its pretty f'n cool!
i lvie in ohio and i have a plant that is doing that exact same thing. I thought it was the strain lol. It does look pretty cool, I'm wondering what ti will look like after harvest. I'm also experiencing this shitty weather we've been having and I've been freakin out about mold and budrot latley. Found some on a plant but I caught it in time(i think) and chopped off the bad buds. I have 2 plants that are way farther along then others, they are about 2-3 weeks from harvest they flowered early so I'm going to buy a 30x loupe tomorrow to check out the trichomes. this is my frist grow so this is all a learning experiance for me.

It might have something to do with what strain it is too, I really don't know. My first grow too. Good luck nik!

A few of my plants have a shitty leaf disease. So far i've only found one pin-head size spot of rot. So fingers are crossed. im also convinced the havy rains weve had for the past 3 weeks or so washed out mostly all of my Heavy Harvest time release ferts. So now im feeding with foxfarm BB & TB as well as their beastie bloomz product. Thats one of the granular stuffs they have ..and whomever said something bout it earlier.. i'd recommend it. the NPK is like 0-30-50 or something rediculous like that. If that doesnt work you must be pouring it ten feet away during a flash flood.

Ill post some pics from the last 3 weeks and update my grow thread while im at it..

@direwolf, i would also recommend another 3-5 weeks also. Your buds seem to be the same size as mine and i know for sure that i'd like them to go another month if the weather permits. i know its tough to hold out but i promise the reward will be that much sweeter
Did you like the heavy harvest this year.

I do really enjoy the ease of use that comes using heavy harvest. But if youre the type who likes total control over what your plant is taking up in the way of nutrients it may not be for you. Even tho its marketed as the be all-end all of outdoor time release nutrients it is NOT the great nexus we all hope exists in the world of nutes. It does grow large and lush plants and the plants really do seem to enjoy what Heavy Harvest has to offer. but as with most of this companies products it seems to be almost designed so that youll want to buy a bunch of other products from their line and spend more money!
I could talk about this aspect for a long time but what it boils down to are a few simple questions you can ask yourself before using HH:
1: Will you visit the plot often, like once to a few times a week? If not then HH is perfect.
2: Do u care deeply in knowing and experimenting with all of those little odds and ends that permeate the nutrient industry. If using stuff called kushie kush, etc. doesnt really float ur boat then HH is perfect for you.
3: Are u a set it and forget it grower? HH will aid you greatly.
4: Do you hate humping nutes n other shit to your spot? HH is great

I really like HH, though next season i may try a different time release nute line. I'ts also my opinion that if you have the proper access to your plot then HH works great along side normal liquid feedings. Basically it's worth a shot

i bought the 22 lb buckets and have enough for next year, so i will use it again. But truthfully i would buy more it made guerrilla growing easier for me. I used the summer blend twice so i have a little less of it. Once the plants got established i hit them every three weeks. Plus fed with alaskan fish fert 1x a week.

Well I guess everyone is busy chopping and trimming. :bigjoint:

I just chopped down Motavation yesterday. Probably could have used a few more days but with these heavy rain storms I'm glad I didn't take the chance. It came down pretty hard yesterday and last night (what else is new) and I'm certain I would have run into some problems. Wish I would have snapped off a few pics but I was in a hurry and forgot the camera again. Very impressed with that strain so far. Post some pics of the final product.

It's been raining here for days / weeks. I have a few plants that I could chop now, but need to know if it's better to wait for a few dry days then do it? I have had mold issues on several plants, so that is my main concern. The plants I want to take are ready but I have read somewhere not to pull them when they are wet, something about the trichs being washed off. Is that bullshit? Please help!!!

If they're ready I'd go ahead and chop them. I cut one branch at a time and do a quick trim in the woods. Whether they are wet/damp or not I usually give each branch a good shake to knock any water, debris, or bugs (hopefully) off. In an ideal world it would be nice to wait for a week long dry patch, but we haven't had one of them in awhile. It takes significantly longer to dry when everything is saturated like this.

OK, Cool! Thanks brother, I'm going out now. I'll take pics and post next time I login. This is what I've been waiting for since they were just little seedlings on my window sill back in April/May. I know there is still work and time drying and curing ahead but this is my first time taking a mature plant, I'm pretty f'n stoked!

Page 16 of the outdoor forum? We really are some lazy stoners in PA lol.
Of course I'm kidding since its only because were so busing chopping, drying, curing, and smoking we've all forgotten what the hell internet does anyways.
I chopped my first batch 3 sundays ago, and the rest last tuesday. Ill definitely throw up some pics eventually.

Yeah I'm pretty much done for the year. Got 2 more small ones that will be coming down this week sometime. I put 3 plants out late July that were on 12/12 for 2 weeks. I was hoping they would be locked into flowering and finish in september. Well, that wasn't the case. Only one continued to flower while the other 2 revegged and still aren't finished. I think I know what went wrong though I'm pretty sure I can get it to work next time.

I was wondering what happened to those plants Sonar. I had to put out some plants in early August that were well into flower and all 3 revegged. What's your plan for next year?

Yeah the Mataro Blue stayed flowering and finished nicely. Think I pulled about an oz from her. The Blue Cheese and NL #9 got all messed up. The buds are really fluffy and the yield is probably going to be pretty small. They might just end up going into the hash pile.

No plans for next year yet. I'd like to go much bigger, but finding good sites near water is difficult. What I should do is come up with some sort of collection system at my current patch.
