Package didn't arrive -- anyone know about USPS seizure policies?

I had a package sent to my house, I am a renter and do not own the house. The package never showed. Just wondering if my address was put on some sort of black list for packages to be searched? I think there is a possibility the address got smeared in the mail because it was raining the day it was supposed to come and our other mail was smeared, but just want to be safe!

Depends what's in it. Low schedule pharmaceuticals seem to result in a love letter (notice of seizure just ignore it and you're fine) when found. Schedule 1 drugs will most likely result in a controlled delivery. Pot seeds are technically schedule 1 but they seem to be treated more like low schedule pharmaceutical. That said having any contraband sent to your residence can result in a controlled delivery.

Until you get a love letter or swat team sent to you it's hard to tell what happened to your package. For all any of us know someone at USPS may have gotten wise and stolen whatever is in the package.

Still might want to look for a place that offers mailboxes to small businesses or homeless people instead of having stuff sent to your house. Also let the package cook off for a random time at the mailbox place to reduce the risk of controlled delivery. At some point the cops will have to give up on watching your mailbox due to the costs of real time surveillance. I doubt they will stick around for two weeks just to get someone for 10 hits of acid.
