Papa has 3 baby girls! And a head-scratcher question..

Hey, Peeps..

Put my babes on 12/12 about 10 days ago and the sorting is mostly done. Had four drop out male, 3 are clearly female, and I have one left that hasn't shown yet, but I'm dead-certain I saw a female preflower on her yesterday.. just can't relocate it (my eyes can only take so much looking around under HPS).

Check the pic's ... comments welcome. They're there from a "proud papa" -- no problems right now.

Spec's: 400W HPS / vegged 4 weeks under MH at 18/6 / 10" pots w/ MG fortified potting mix. Started FF Grow Big at 3 weeks; 3tps per gal once a week. Largest plant is 29" tall... they're all putting on about 2" a day.

Here's the head-scratcher: check the pic' of the fat glossy stem nodes on one of the fems. I noticed in the RIU FAQ's on preflowers that the fem had these swollen glossy nodes; the male had straighter, all-fuzzy nodes with no glossy areas. Now, EVERY ONE of my males had these all-fuzzy nodes, and every one of my fems has swollen, glossy nodes like you see in the pic'. Getting the pattern? Is it possible that another way to pre-identify male and female has been overlooked?

This also occurred across two different strains -- bubblelicious and some random bagseed.

Just keep looking from different angles and you'll see the hairs again. You can also try using a flashlight. That normally helps out a whole lot :hump:

Good idea.. I know I saw what I saw, so I'm not worried about the sex..

I'm much more intrigued by the glossy swollen nodes.. no one has an idea about that? The node characters showed well ahead of flowering..

Don't know but I will definitely keep track of that when I switch lights on the 18th. It seems too perfect to be true though.
