+ rep. I plan on copying this system, but doing a cabinet that's 2x5x6 and mounting it up off the floor onto a stud support structure against my basement wall. I'm also planning on using plywood or sheathing for the exterior instead of the poly. I have a problem with insects and the basement isn't dry, so everything is getting waterproofed !! I might also make the ventilation system separate from the cabinet, that way I have more room for the mothers

Pappa, I just built a tent, roughly the size of yours, 20"x20"x30". It is great and so far I love the thing, 100% light proof, only thing is that I watered yesterday, checked today and there's condensation every which way. I threw a thermometer in it and shut it up to see what it hit and its at 83F with just 2 23w cfls in it. My question to you is how do you vent yours and still keep it light tight, if it's possible. If you have some detailed pictures/instructions I would greatly appreciate it. Also, I was thinking that the next time I build one, on the side that is going to be the door, I would add a piece of wood in between the two crowns on either side next to the support beams so that you can easily staple velcro to it and have a nice square or rectangle to work with rather than having the support beams dip in, if you know what I'm saying? Anyways much respect dude! You've helped me out so much! Props +rep

Would this work if I just put the fan on the top exhausting and added 2 extra pieces of poly to the top and side, side being passive intake. It is only 10 cubic feet and the fan is 25cfm. Now with the extra sheets I was thinking that would help with light tightness by putting a hole in the outer most side towards the top, then another hole on the inner most lower towards the bottom, then essentially the same concept for the top. Leme know what your input it!Edit: I now see a flaw in the design, only in the way that I drew it. the exhaust should be on the furthest side from the intake is all. Also, do you think 25cfm will be enough to cool down this tent or should I email them and switch to the 100+ cfm 4in. fan?
I'm starting my 6x6x6 flower tent this week. I'll be sure to add the pics later. My current darlings are flourishing in their rockin tent. Thanks again

im going to construct mine today! You've totally inspired me with an awesome tut. I was curious, do you think it would be smart to cut a thin sheet of balsa wood, wrap them in the mylar and screw each panel to the box to make the walls? I am just super anal when it comes to a tight snug fit.

Just what I was looking for. Have all the materials too! Now can we see a picture of the door open and lights up. What about venting. Another good thing is you can buy velcro strips at the $ store. They are peel and stick. Would be good for the door too.
