Howdy, RIU's i want to rig up a small PC fan (12 Volt) on-top of my ballast to control the heat.
Wat is the best way to do this? I dont think it uses much power so i didnt want to hook it up to the wall.
I see photos on here of ppl who have hooked up small pc fans as intake/outake fans on their stealth grows, but wasnt sure how2, so any input appreciated.
..I'll give +Rep to any1 who puts it in the simpliest terms 4me as im a bit of a lamen sometimes.
Cheers :joint:

alright here you go:

get something like this: usually sell at all electronic stores

now take the wire cut, split, and strip the ends

connect the PC fan with the transformer using actual UL approved connectors.

you ask which one is hot, what colors need to match? doesn't matter, its 12 volts. my answer is which ever one works. will do no harm to your fan if you mismatch the + and - wires briefly.

this is my method, and it works.

Is that right?

hook up the wires first, then plug into wall. if instantly fan doesn't work switch the wires.
don't at all hold the exposed wires or let them touch.

after or before all of the madness, medicate and on the fan there will be a amperage rating. adjust the transformer so that the amperage correlates with fan.

phone chargers differ in the amp output depending on the model, using a phone charger doesn't guarantee the optimal output of the fan.

unless the amps on the charger correlates with the fan.
