When you guys first smoked were you pressured into doing it or did you do because you wanted to?
When I first did it I wanted to try it and loved it ever since.

being pressured, peer pressure.. works differently. I had taken sissy pen hits of stress during high school.. but I remember the 1st time I actually SMOKED, some bomb kush w/ 5 friends.. we rolled a gram and baseballed a blunt.(where you do not exhale until it goes around the circle & back on you) .. we went to wendys after & I was sure I was going to die. but did not want to say anything.. >.<

I am sure everyone experienced peer pressure in 1 way or another, how else does one try it if they do not know ppl who have? I doubt many ppl smoke weed for the 1st time by, Solo seeking out some bud & smoking by themselves with no other input having caused the interest

Well Actually, I Seeked Out A Buddy Who Smoked & Bought 2 Grams From Him. The First Time I Thought My Brain Was Internally Bleeding, But When I Tried It The Next Week, I Fell In Love With It.

I just wanted to and was only waiting for my first opportunity to come along. I can't say for sure when the desire first hit me, but every time I heard Bob Dylan's Rainy Day Women #12 & 35, I wanted to give it a try, and if I remember right, that came out in 1966, so it took me another two years before I had my chance.

The origin of the 4:20 smoke break is claimed to be:

According to Steven Hager, editor of High Times, the term 420 originated at San Rafael High School, in 1971, among a group of about a dozen pot-smoking wiseacres who called themselves the Waldos, who are now pushing 50. The term was shorthand for the time of day the group would meet, at the campus statue of Louis Pasteur, to smoke pot. Intent on developing their own discreet language, they made 420 code for a time to get high, and its use spread among members of an entire generation. While our teens feel that they know something we don't, you can let them in on the fact that it was your generation that came up with the numbers.

A quote from one of the Waldos in the High Times article states, "We did discover we could talk about getting high in front of our parents without them knowing by using the phrase 420." Fortunately, your teenagers will not have that same option as their parents too grew up in a drug culture and should pretty much know better.

But I have wondered from time to time if it's true origin came from Bob Dylan's Rainy Day Women #12 & 35. If you multiply 12 times 35 the answer is ... 420. Coincidence? Maybe ... but maybe not.

I was 13 and none of my friends smoked yet , so I got pencil shavings and papers to practice rolling joints . When I got good at rolling I took some of moms weed and rolled 5 or 6 joints then smoked 3 head on before I felt it . I was about to light the fourth joint when the feeling crept upon me and had me clinging to the couch like It was a surfboard on rough seas , then as I began to realize that no one ever died from weed I relaxed and fell asleep .

i was peer pressured by my twin brother, I was nervous, and scared.
But, I love smoking weed now, and it was enjoyable the very first time, except for the crying. Felt like a whole body massage wrapped in a coccoon of velvet... idk how to explain the way it makes your body feel the first time, and thats what I remember feeling, it felt so good just to touch my face and my arms.

I wasn't interested, and some friends pressured me and I still said no...and then finally one day I tried it, and nothing happened..so I didn't ever try it again...until I was like 22 and then I was like OMG why didn't I try this sooner...lol.

I was raised by growers and regularly experimented with edibles, finding it stimulated my appetite and stopped my panic attacks. At friend's houses a joint was always being passed around or I'd accompany to a pickup. One day the joint came around, I nodded, the person next to me held it to my lips and I toked whilst playing my DS lying on the bed, the it went around the circle again. It just continued. I disn't consider it any different to smoking cigarettes, which I have since quit.

The first time I got high everyone was all being nice and shit, saying "You don't have to smoke if you don't want to" and other such comforting things, there was no peer pressure at all. Quite different from how they represented it in class and all those infomercials. I was also quite pumped to try it because my one friend had regularly regaled me with great stories of getting ripped. Every time after that though it's been "Come on. Smoke this bowl, pussy." Somewhat jokingly.

I had an older friend;

1)Found out friend smokes & resisted offer at 15.
2)Found fathers hash pipe and hash, didn`t smoke any.
3)Realised my girlfriends family smoked.

Set for go, I went and smoked with a friend and then with my father. Its grand stuff yo haha

I learned back in school there's supposed to be a such thing as "silent peer pressure". For example If your hanging out with friends that smoke cigarettes, Even though they may never ask you to smoke, there's pressure to smoke to fit in. By the time I was about twelve years old, I had already found my fathers stash, I think that was when I was snooping for Christmas presents lol. I was not peer pressured in to smoking weed, I just had weed and wanted to experience getting high, what was actually "illegal". I think I was peer pressured into smoking cigarettes though, Most of my friends that I grew up with and hung out with were all cigarette smokers, it was "cool" to smoke cigarettes when you were 14,15 and 16 years old, it made you look older and it was just part of the cool lifestyle. Now me being 26, still smoking after 12 years, I wish I had never started in the first place. :bigjoint:

I smoked a lot of cigarettes due to stress, the same reason the other seniors did. The 14 year olds did it to be cool often, but the 'cool factor' wasn't present because at my school you were allowed to smoke on the grounds. When I smoked weed, I went out onto the school field with my books, toked and did my coursework quietly by myself.

First tried weed in college with no peer pressure. Then stopped for over 30 year.
Now back @ it for Medical reason.

Don't recommend it for anyone that is not over 18 yrs old.
