Medium or coarse is usually used for potting mixes, fine is for seed starter mixes.Is coarse perlite the perlite I need for cannabis ?ebay has 25 litres for $18.00.
Anyone have any to look at bag and put me on the rite track please.

I try to buy the coarse or "chunky" perlite whenever I can. The reason for that is because then I get a wider variety of chunks. Perlite is very soft and breaks down as the bags get jumbled around in shipping, etc. So, the top of the bags always have the coarse stuff and then if I dig down to the bottom of the bag, it's sand. If I buy the regular grade, to begin with, then I just end up with a half a bag of sand. I still use it, but the whole idea of adding perlite is to lighten and aerate the soil. Also, be careful and always wear a mask when working with perlite. On a microscopic level, it's like broken glass!
Having said that, I think my next grow is going to be the Bruce Bugbee soil mix....which is peat moss, vermiculite, dolomite lime and gypsum.
