yes...the higher the temp the quicker the PH rises...you want it at about 16-19c. When you mixed up and filled your res yesterday, did you let the nutrients+water sit before checking the PH and using PH down on it, or did you just mix it all up and ph down it shortly afterward then fill your res? PH going up in hydro is due to the temperature, and uptake of nutrients. Nutrients in the water reduces the ph, so as the salts are taken away by the plants root system, that will cause the PH to rise as well.
I'd take the heater out of the tank(or at least turn it down a little bit) to get the temp down in your tank. When its at about 17c check your ph, lower it to 5.8, wait about 20-30 minutes, then check your ph again and your ppm and jot it down. Tomorrow check your ph again and your ppm to see what you've had for fluctuations. You should see the ppm lower and the ph higher, but it shouldn't drift as high with your res temp down a little bit. This will also let you know how much your plant is eating and you can add some diluted nute solution back into the tank every few days in between complete res changes.
Another thing that can cause ph to rise faster is light penetration into the res...is it completely light proof or do you have gaps somewhere letting light in? Or is the plastic not completely light proof? If its not completely light proof wrap it in something that is.
