To lower the pH you are making it more alkaline than acidic. I think . I got a 4 in 1 tester from the nursery but never use it. The medium and the irrigation technique, is what will help you to do something else besides testing pH 24/7

Wrong. lowering the ph is making it acidic. Raising is making it more alkaline.
If you are adding nutes to your water, you need to PH every time.

Really important to have. Almost every nutrient will change the ph of your water.

Use it to pH water/fed before it goes in. You can use ph up and down if you need to adjust, I use Earth Juice versions.
To check soil pH with this meter or similar one test runoff after watering/feeding. I allow my saucers to fill up and I drain them with a battery powered hand pump, I then test the next wave of runoff by using a turkey baster and sucking enough up to fill a solo cup half full. Good meters like this one will only have an error rate of about .1-.2. So shoot for 6.5 runoff in soil, about 6 in soilless.
Don't waste your time and money with pH strips or drops, you need a decent meter. Will last at least 2-3 years.

No it will not harm your plant.
Ph is measures the amount of hydrogen/hydroxide in the water.
The pH scale measures how acidic or basic a substance is. The pH scale ranges from 0 to 14. A pH of 7 is neutral. A pH less than 7 is acidic. A pH greater than 7 is basic.

That's debated by some but I say no. I've been using the Earth Juice versions of pH up and down for about 2 years without issue. Just remember down is much stronger then up, and the amount of pH up and down needed to move the pH in either direction changes depending on where you are in pH. Example is my tap water is 8, in 4 gallon buckets I need 1/8 tsp of down to get it to high 6s, but I once added 1/4 tsp to same amount of 8 pH tap and pH only went to 6. So it moved more from 8 down then it did from 6.8 down with the same amount. Up is the same way, at certain pH levels you need more to move it up. I almost didn't understand what I just said but it's pretty simple.
