I use these for calibration....

Also, keep the tip(probe) in kcl storage solution at all times when not in use....

NEVER let the probe get dry.
I'm using a cheapo right now but a decent one is on the slate this spring. I've got the 3-solution calibration setup (6.68, 4.00, 9.18)...and I've just used regular water to keep it wet. It's been fine, but I've been recalibrating every 2 weeks.

I did recently skip a few extra weeks and found that my well-water had changed it's pH downward, which may have been a seasonal thing. I recalibrated and found I needed to pH up to 6.5 where during the summer I'd ended up right around 7pH and had to bump it down.

Also, quit messing with powdered solutions for this. Cheap enough to buy bottles of fluid. I pour out a little into ramekins, do my calibration then pour it back into the bottles. That way there's no chance you're fumbling the quantities as used in the powers which might throw off your readings.

Dude they do and half the time the powder doesn't even break down all the way when mixed. Thanks!

I could do 3 point calibration, but I would only need to if I needed an accurate reading above 7.
