Would anyone care to recommend an affordable yet accurate test kit or meter for soil...That would be available in Canada? ...thanks in advance...

I'd just get a regular probe for liquids and do a slurry test of the soil. That's what I do. But I don't bother checking the pH of soil when using it to grow cannabis but I do check the pH of the soil outside in the garden and blueberries, etc... I've never found it necessary to check the pH of soil when growing cannabis. I focus on the pH of what goes in. If you take care of that, and don't overfeed/add a bunch of additives the pH of the soil will always be fine.

I never found any soil probe to be accurate, many have said my soil is out of range but the plants growing in it have firmly disagreed and i believe my plants over a probe anyday.

Is there anything different with this probe to everyother soil probe over a 100$?

All this PH stuff is fairly daunting for the beginner who basically is used to popping in a seed or nursing along a clone to harvest. I do understand that to take it to the next level I need to up my game a bit in regards to soil and water management. I grow herbs, tomatoes, beans and cukes in pots, due to a lack of growing space that is not shaded. I have noticed that my garden is having problems the last couple years that may be PH/nute related.....
