Phosphorus deficiency.

So I've been learning alot on this 2nd grow of mine. My 1st grow ever I learned quite a bit about the importance of air flow in my tent. Anyhow, back on point. So around week 5 of flower with this Red Mandarine I noticed the leaves on one of the buds start to purple. Hell, I thought it looked cool. Haha. Although it was only on 2 of the buds fan leaves. Not the rest. @PadawanWarrior advised me to get some Neptunes Harvest Fish & Seaweed. & that seemed to do the immediate trick. & even though it was a bit late in the game. I had just got some Gaia Green Mineralized Phosphate. So I top dressed a little of that as well. No more spreading of the purp. *Pics below of the healthy side of the plant.. & then also the phosphorus deficiency bud that purpled the most. Even though I thought it looked cool. It is not normal with this strain. She's finishing up week 8 of flower now. I'm really proud of this grow. After tossing 1/2 a pound in the trash on the last. Ha. Cheers R.I.U. fam.

That purpling doesn’t look abnormal to me. Some strains do it or it can be due to cooler temps. Even if this strain doesn’t normally do it you could have a pheno that does. In any case 8 weeks into flower that plant looks generally pretty healthy. I wouldn’t sweat it too much. Your biggest threat is probably bud rot at this point so watch that humidity.

Thanks man. I honestly wasn't sure. Although it was only on 2 buds. I looked at alot of pics of this strain & did not find it on other peeps grows. Yea, I thought it was neat. Thanks for the info. I can say my temps dipped 10 degrees at night. So maybe that's it.

Not sure what the overnight temps were, but that could make sense. If it makes you feel better this one looked just like yours and turned out fine outside of some wacky foxtailing.

Good luck with the rest of the grow. I do think you will be fine as long as you stay away from bud rot. Even if you did have a deficiency it’s not going to ruin the harvest this late in the game.
