You know what... You just made me realize something. I've pulled viable clones off of these plants. Now I wish I would have paid attention to which ones came from which. I'm quite certain that the plant in question has given me at least 1 or 2.
While you can clone an auto it doesn't change it's lifespan. So it produces less and gets smaller and smaller each cloned generation. If you like the genetics I'd considering selfing them.

The simple answer , some sativa strains or ( pheno dom ) CAN and WILL begin flower once it feels its “ veg period “ is over.
Regardless of light change . Plants also move to flower as a stress response ( rootbound / environment stress , etc. ) .

I am running a plant that is doing the same thing. Mine is a known regular ( girlscout glue ) grown in a 3 gallon container.
18/6 for 6 weeks it began sex out and pistils .... I kept same cycle until this week allowing buds to stack up. It stretched and is making buds .... now I moved to 12/12 to finish it out. I usually run in larger 5 gallon with stakes ( spear shaped buds ) and is a pretty big plant when grown out In larger container or outdoors.

Good info, thanks! I have them in 5g pails however I inadvertently only have them about 3.5g of soil. Perhaps it is running out of room a little? Environment should be pretty solid I think.

My theory is your plants are trying to show you who’s boss. They don’t need a human telling them what to do!

Woo hoo! I'm not the only one! Hahaha!

Any theories? The best one that my buddies and I have come up with is that maybe because the autos are in full flower they are influencing the photos to follow suit.
I have also noticed on an 18/6 cycle that even in early veg, I am seeing hairs and pistols starting, I juts flipped to bud also but I noticed this during my 18/6 cycle.

How many weeks in are you? I'm at week 11. If mine were autos (or at least his one) I would think they would have started weeks ago.
Mine are about 7 weeks from seed Been on 18/6 the whole time. Only some minor training done so i know they haven't been stressed to much. I go in the other day to check on the ladies and instantly I see a bunch of pistols like what the fuck.

All I see on that plant is the plant showing it's sex. Congrats it's a girl. It doesn't look like it's trying to flower like JohnnyBoy's.

There are strains of cannabis that will start flowering without a lighting change that are not Ruderalis.

Well, for anybody keeping track, I flushed her down to ~200ppm above feed water today, then top dressed with bat guano, dolomite and some worm
castings, then gave a 3/4 strength flower nute feeding. I also did a big defoliation (mostly to give some space in the tent). I'm now out of town for a week. It'll be very interesting to see what she does in that time!
