So you would be using a digital camera Correct ??? so they replaced the 35mm camera, but with your digital camera, can you change lens, and manual set the F-stops and aperature size and film speed, So I guess you didn't buy a walmart, point and click digital camera, Im screwed I got two 35mm camera's,a Konica FS1 with all the lens you could for that camera new,the other is a Pentex Auto Focus not sure,it was my dads he passed on, I got the camera and all the extra's, now you can't use it, I took a photography class in high school, learned to shoot and develop black and white film, and pictures, but I sure you can't do that anymore either, so how do you do black and white with a digital camera
some lenses are interchangeable... the older A1 series wont work.....
EF and will fit the canon line up as does the EFS

you can also get step Up adapters for other lenses (check interwebs...) most old lenses are not taken care of and get mold etc inside..

it's basically the 35mm in dig format

digital is the way to go...

Cause I love that little guy, alot, alot, alot,
Yea I have a newer SLR 40d body (but you can get a 20d body or something for dirt cheap that works fine) which is digital and gives you the same control with f-stop, iso, etc, and it has an EF mount for lenses. The old 35mm film canon cameras were FD mount (various brands of lenses used this mount), so I just bought a FD-EF converter off amazon that is basically this: http://compare.ebay.com/like/110932430117?var=lv&ltyp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar

It looks like the konica had a really odd mount, not sure if you'll be able to get a converter for it. Someone says the Olympus AR camera body can be adapted to use those lenses, but not sure about canon or nikon.

You might be in luck with the Pentex, http://www.amazon.com/Fotodiox-Adapter-Dandelion-Confirmation-adapter/dp/B003Y3EJMU I'd probably google "Pentex K mount to eos" where EOS is digital canon products. There's also one for nikon bodies if you found a cheap nikon digital SLR http://www.amazon.com/Fotodiox-Mount-Adapter-Pentax-Camera/dp/B003Y31A2W

The brand of lens doesn't really matter, there are tons of excellent japanese lenses with all kinds of names, what matters is the mount.

About the black and white thing. I would check your camera to see if it has a black and white setting on it. I think most have it, it may even be on the pre-set wheel if yours has one. Otherwise you could pop the colour pictures you take into any editing software, such as photoshop, and just take the colour away with the click of a button. Both methods work fine, though I have a feeling using a black and white setting on the camera itself is better.

the interaction between plants and insects....
Aww great idea! Very much like the photos, even if insects are creepier the more you can see of them. I tried taking pics of a spider in my bedroom recently and found it very difficult indeed. Ever time I got a light on it, the little bugger moved lol.

Love pics of purple weed, gots me thinking. Some might be aware that carrots used to be purple many, many years ago. Now they are orange obviously, but its because we (the farmers) decided that orange looked better. Now its hard to imagine a purple carrot.

I wonder if by the year 2200 or sumin, if all weed will be purple...

Hey MysticMorris,

I want to try my hand at silk screening t-shirts. When I was a kid there was an amazing artist making art for a company called Magic Island T-Shirts. Best weed art ever! He is still around in FL but his art has no weed in it any more :(

Here is a shot I made just for your thread:

Cheers,
Mo

Glorious! And to be fair that is one big ass plant. Seems to be competing with your roof. Thanks for sharing. Tshirt printing must be fun, lots of room for creativity. I'v done some basic tshirts by stretching one over a bit of wood and using a single layer stencil. So far matt-black spray paint has survived 15-20washes :D.
